If we have a secret benefactor it would be an excellent move to see if we could get Wane.
A factor more might be he wants his own backroom staff and you can see that ramping up the costs quite a bit.
Someone mentioned he would like the hands on aspect of the job, he might but would mean him doing more than most coaches and his England/GB roll too.

With wane think of the contacts he has in the game, and with what he did at the pies, players would want to play for him and youngsters will be given a chance

I didn't consider Wane because I thought he would consider it a step down from where he as been.I still don't think it will happen, but if he did come I would say thank you very much.

Not my cup of tea thank you. He is a winner but he hates flair and players have to stick to his `master` plan. Also he would dismantle our back room team. I say again - keep the positivity & balance and retain as many bodies as possible who contributed to the good days.

Will we have a back room staff: Watson not taken them to Hudds. Wane's records a little better than Watson's as well. Wane is a winner, he works tirelessly, as did Watson, he appreciates things having had a tough upbringing, he knows RL inside out, single minded, he's proven and probably needs the challenge. And he knows how to get an Academy going and bring youngsters through.
Not sure whether he's right for the Club because there are all sorts of factors we know nothing about, but when you compare him with the potential alternatives he seems to stand near the top position.

I love Watson and what he's done for Salford but he's achieved far far more than anything Watson has. As a club we don't want to plateua and stay around the same place we are now. Of we want to go to the next level we need a leader that has been there.

I don't think it's fair to compare Watson and Wane from what they've done as coaches so far.
Wane came into a Wigan team that had processes put in place by the excellent Michael Maguire. He did a really good job in maintaining those standards with quality players and a great youth system. He won three grand finals and a Challenge Cup with a team that were expected to win trophies and is obviously a really good coach.
Watson came into a team that was not performing well with players that weren't other teams first pick. He totally transformed the team and improved the players so much so that other teams then cherry picked. He then had to mould new players in great numbers each year into a team that performed well above expectation. He got us to a Grand Final and a Challenge Cup Final but we didn't win unfortunately. Ian Watson was involved in changing everything in the Salford club and is obviously a really good coach too.
What type of coach do Salford need now? We have a fabulous backline and if Kevin Brown can stay fit all season good half backs to go with it. The front row needs additions and a clever 13 to replace Flash. Could the type of coach Shaun Wane is take us to the next level from where we are now, or do we need another Ian Watson type coach to get the best out of players we can afford?

Interesting. FWIW I think it's probably not true, but it's nice to think we have a chance, even if it's for a few days!

When do the flights land from Oz?😉 😂 I’m guessing all the interviews will be on zoom so for once the flights won’t be a clue 😉 Instead of being ‘I saw Ricky Stuart in Eccles Aldi’. It will be hackers trying to find out who’s been on line at key times. 2020 eh!

Seems Lee Radford wants a return to SL and has tossed his hat in the ring.
