A good four teams with the financial capability to enter SL its just how are they going to decide without bringing back the temptation of franchising. A play off completion would only be fair anything else would be brown paper bag time

Can't see how they can have a play to decide this, they haven't played a game in months and some won't have recruited the players they need.
Keep saying it the 1st criteria should be give us X amount of pennies to bank for you incase it all goes wrong again.
Persally I think Toronto might give it another go or maybe even Ottawa will take on Toronto players and make a bid.

I think there's a few teams that could easily come in. For me, I think Toulouse are worth a shot. They tick all the boxes. An established, working expansion club with a solid youth set-up, lots of support, a great derby match with Catalans, and a lovely area for traveling fans to visit.

Toulouse for me.
Stunning part of the world, Toulouse on the weekend and then Catalans on the Thursday would make 1 hell of a trip.

London for me. Relegated and replaced by a club that’s now been thrown out. Great trip down there and it’s those sort of areas RL should be getting more people playing.

Could be right.
London have just promoted a rake of young locals so they must be doing something right.
I've long said when a team is promoted there should be no relegation the next to allow them to gel and get the best players in rather that fighting for the dregs.

Whoever it is needs to be exempt from relegation for 2021. They'll have a hell of a time putting together a competitive squad at this short notice.

Simple, just make P&R every 2 years, would help stop the team who are promoted each year become easy beats.

Why would we change the rules all of a sudden? Relegation every 2 years for a team in the north of England, London or the south of France but not from Canada?
Let’s be clear here, most of the SL clubs that voted for Toronto to be kicked out will be putting pressure on the decision makers that the team promoted will be the one that gets relegated at the end of 2021. SL clubs have no interest in taking on risk or sharing the TV money

Toronto were not taking any TV money as far as I am aware - therefore whatever that pot is was divided by 11. By bringing another team in - surely none of whom would be daft enough to agree to come up with three months notice and no TV revenue when they'll also have no match day revenue - means the existing 11 are voting to make their own slice of the pie smaller?

Toronto weren't relegated, they were refused readmission because they scribbled there business plan on the back of a fag packet.

giasf - one of Toronto’s conditions for staying in super league was getting a share of the TV money. It’s one of the things that some clubs complained about m
Whoever else comes in now will presumably get a share (not sure if Toulouse will, does anyone know if Catalans do?)
There were clearly issues with the business case and lack of transparency from the new potential owner but that would apply to most clubs in SL, us included. Most of the clubs who voted against were planning to do that before the 1st business case was submitted so it isn’t just down to that

Sorry don't buy that RUTB. SBW was on a ludicrous wage which the new owner would have honoured, meaning the share of the SKY money would have been peanuts to what he was already shelling out. What was the current deal? IFRC it was £1,600000 which comes out at £1,33333. When you're paying an old war horse 6 figure deals that's just loose change.
Plus something that has always irked me, both Catalan and Toronto would have broadcasting deals in France/Canada, would they have split that with the other 10 teams?
The simple answer is NO.
