His Father Died before he was Born after being mauled to Death by Lions at a Circus in Salford, That's Unfortunate. Amazing how it took RU Another 82 years to pick Another Black player in 1988 in Chris Oti. Thats one thing RL was years in front in.
He Was born at 38 Queen Street, Which is near the Wellington Inn on Bolton Road. It's a Holts house π

In February The last time I was visiting Sunny North Manchester I overhead a Conversation in the Foresters Arms Holts Boozer on Prestwich Village between two life long Regulars, A New Spirit had just been on Sale Fireball Cinnamon whiskey Some thing like two shots for Β£4 They probably expected a Pint of Bitter and a House Brand whiskey chaser For that In Years gone by I remember seeing old Misery Guts Mark E Smith the lead singer of The Fall (obviously before he died) Haggling with the Bar staff over 40p !! Seems to be the place for Money Conscious Locals !!

Not really the outlook in yawn was very different to the " He's talented, he plays, we want him" one in RL.
And if they were going to welcome and tour against the Bok/Apartheid friends in sport it would always have been put aside.
RL was just as guilty of trying SA and treating Billy Boston very poorly at the time.
