I posted this tweet earlier. Who is your choice to be captain for next season, and why?

Koppy.
Easy choice. Leads from the front, experienced, and loves it at Salford!

I would stick with Dobson. Thought he was brilliant the way he led by example when we was down and out in the mpg.

Two good choices are there any other candidates?

I'd definitely go with Dobson. Kopczak isn't on the field for the full game and Dobson is our on-field general who directs us around the pitch. Kopczak's passion is there for us all to see but we need a captain who is there permanently, not just for 40-60mins a game.

I think your reasoning is bang on there reds89. Dobson move up to captain and Koppy vice captain

Hmmm.
The fact that a Captain is spelled for ten minutes a time doesn't seem to bother Canterbury Bulldogs selection of Captain in James Graham. Or Cameron Smith. Or Matt Scott. Or Paul Gallen. Or Robbie Farah. Or Andy Farrell in times gone by. Or Paul Sculthorpe. Or Aaran Woods...
These being the few I can think of off the top of my head.
I personally think it's outdated to think that a Captain has to be an 80 minute player and clearly some of the top teams in the world see to think so to. A Captain needs to lead by example, do the things that nobody else wants to, motivates, and turn games with actions. While Dobbo does these things and I wouldn't be disappointed if he retained the Captaincy, I think having a Captain and Club Captain like in the NRL would be a good thing.

One of our best ever captains was a prop (Dai Young) I think the prime need is they lead by example, does Kopczak want to be captain? It is additional responsibility.

I'd be happy with Dobbo and/or Koppy.
Really good forwards are crucial on the pitch. Speaking of David Young, I was speaking to Dave Cruikshank many years ago and he said of David Young, that he takes the ball up when nobody else wants to, when people were getting bashed he'd be first to take the ball up. When an opposition forward was running over people he'd be first to enforce. To me, this encapsulates everything in a captain. Game managers are fine, but when a team is being bullied you need leaders to step-up and wrestle the physicality back in your favour.

Dobbo to step up from vice captain (he was captain for most of season due to Lee injury let's not forget) and koppy to be vice captain. Dobbo did OK and vice captain for koppy would be reward for his enthusiasm and passion.

Kopczak for me, lead from the front all season. When he came on in the home game where burgess started in his place, he looked more than fired up. Dobson is an organiser, he needs to concentrate on that role rather than carrying the weight of the team
