Whilst washing up in the kitchen I was listening to Radio 5 life extra, dear me.
To get fair he declared a biased interest in TWP being allowed back but said that some teams, Salford and Wakefield, were better off financially due to lockdown. He also claims that some players were getting just above minimum wage.
Claims that once furlough ends many squads will shed players.
Some of if the above he said was as a result of talking to CE's.
For me he came across as bitter, don't know if you can find it in catch up, but it was before the next game started.

He's bitter because he had an OTT contract with Toronto, way above what he was worth, and from what he's said before was going to go on their coaching staff on a similar contract. So he's joined the merry band of Toronto Brothers, hoping they get back in and he gets an overpaid job back, oh and the money he's owed from this season.

Furlough was only applicable when we weren’t playing, as soon as they started training they had to start paying them again. Maybe true for lower leagues I guess. He likes to talk a lot, and it often comes out as a lot of rubbish

TWP's problems have been one of the few occasions when the drama has been very Aussie. It has never helped that we're in the middle of a period where compromise and real insight have been lost.

Wilkin’s heart is in the right place. Not sure he’s bitter, just phlegmatic. I think he’s an intelligent observer of the game. The suggestion that some clubs were financially better off in furlough isn’t a new one. Probably applies to those with the lowest gate receipts,if you think about it,as they’ve stood to lose the least income

If some were better off in furlough it's hardly read all about it material. That the game is still going is the headline as far as I'm concerned.

The problem with Wilkin is that he likes the sound of his own voice too much. He occasionally has decent insight, but also carries a lot baggage which is self-evident during extended ramblings when allowed to do so. I really like the SL podcast on Youtube with Wilkin, Flash, and the presenter. He sometimes hogs so much of the time talking dribble that all you can do is switch off and hope the next episode he's got training when they film.
