I think It's now illegal to tackle below the knee when the player is stationary. Luckily he tackled from the right side
Did Rangi get 6 or 8 matches for doing it to a certain idiot scrum half, who played dead then played after a week off.. At the same time I think Hock got 10 matches for pushing the ref?

During the summing up I think someone said Nial Evalds was the best Salford signing in the last 25 years, mmmmmm! Watto describing Jacko and the Kev was really interesting too! Disappointed with Watson,on his comments on Hastings. When he becomes more mature,I think he said. Current MOS. Ill give Watto benefit of the doubt ,assuming it came out wrong

Brown has the experience to stand back and watch the play unfold and then decides when to join the play. He also doesn’t have the same energy levelsas Hastings. Jacko wants ball in hand all the time and to be centre of everything. If that isn’t the definition of an experienced old head versus and energetic youngster I don’t know what is. Both are different ways of playing and it’s not negative to either player.

Interesting that perceptions can be different. I thought Brown was fairly average. He controlled the flow but didn't stand-out for me. I also thought Ormondroyd was fairly average over the course of the game and cost us a try at a crucial time. I thought Inu pipped MoM. As a team performance though, we ground that win out and in past years we'd have capitulated. Can we play Hull every week please? how can anyone watch that performance last night from brown and think yeah that's a fairly average performance? Everything good that we did last night came from him. Brown had a solid game and contributed greatly to the success of the team on the night. If I'd have wrote that instead of average you wouldn't have posted anything to me. I'll modify my language to always air on the side of positivity in future.

We'll be watching that Carnster
I also think Watto was spot on. Hastings has the energy at his age to run around the field, be involved in every move and tackle everybody in sight. He also said you didn't see that much of Rob Lui at the time but he said Lui had been there, as understudy to Theakston, and was a better player in lots of ways than him, was effectively playing on one good leg and that he guided him around, in a similar role to Brown Tui disappoints a bit, in that at his age he should be taking on the line more as did Hastings did
Brown is about 14 years older than Hastings hasnt got the energy to run for 80 minutes but is a far better organiser and he's a good tackler. Set up 3 tries last night and the same against Catalan.
Look at how Hastings has changed since he's gone to Wigan. He's now not allowed a free role, is structured and not even in the MoS race this year.

Interesting tonight. Couple of new rules following the Hull match; forward pass and offside. Somebody should send a note to Kendall.
And according to Mcdermott; " Bevan French is an attacking player" The things you learn off the Sage of RL

At the same time I think Hock got 10 matches for pushing the ref? It is illegal. That’s why we got a penalty for it. It wouldn’t have been last year. It wasn’t any more than a penalty because he hit the back of the knee so the leg bent the way it’s supposed to. Penalty because it’s reckless but no more. If you hit the side or front of the knee, like Rangi did against (I think) Brett Ferres, that’s when you get cards and long bans

I noticed Dudson went off after about 25 minutes and didn’t come back on. He seemed to be signalling to the sideline about an injury before he went off. Likewise Roberts went off a couple of minutes later and didn’t return. Pauli did the rest of the game in that second row spot
Not sure if they’re injured or Watto just didn’t want to risk them anymore before next week
