We were the better side and deserved the win but couldn't quite pull away or cement the job.
The difference in application of six again between here and the NRL is interesting.
The Sky commentary was only interested in the outcome for Hull which is just not good enough.
The pundits in Oz are too prone to focussing on decisions made by refs and even though I'm not keen on our ref from last night the real issue is when it seems they're questionable or weak you just have to apply yourselves more as a team.

Kevin Brown did to Hull what he’s done to us in the past. They let him play which has always been fatal. I’m assuming he’s contracted for next season. If not I think he’ll stay as he’s enjoying himself. Flash is a big loss. He’s aching too much ,I think

You'd think Flash has a future in the game, bat flu & finances allowing I'd hope we try it make his 1st steps be at Salford. I think he may do some punditry but I doubt he'll go behind the scenes. He's not without a few quid and has successful interests outside the sport. Not to say he wouldn't be an invaluable asset, but just don't think he'll be going in that direction.

He’s aching too much ,I think KB laid to rest all the criticism last night because he was more than the player who seems to drift in and out looking for the right moments.
Flash will be a big loss but I liked the look of Ormondroyd to balance that.
Last banging on about Sarge's tackle is poor though, he was punished at the time & will probably get a bit more. Was it an attempt to influence?
I'm not sure what the purpose of the ten minutes is if it then it goes to the judiciary? ? I also noticed there was no usual defence from the Sky commentary team and that was interesting.

The team will really miss his leadership; really well organised when he's on Expect McCarthy won't be far behind him in retiring as well.
Hope Watto gets a backrow pack leader, or could that be Addy. Need someone to organise Greenwood, Livett, Yates, Lannon, Roberts, Pauli, Ormondroyd
Thought Ormondroyd had a good game, needs to get a hand off like Welham and he'd be twice the player.

Interesting that perceptions can be different. I thought Brown was fairly average. He controlled the flow but didn't stand-out for me. I also thought Ormondroyd was fairly average over the course of the game and cost us a try at a crucial time. I thought Inu pipped MoM. As a team performance though, we ground that win out and in past years we'd have capitulated. Can we play Hull every week please?

I bet the Hull owner wished he could get Watto.I thought we were better than 6 points but 1 is enough. All the best to flash in retirement. And last but not least Sky are treating the game as a joke with their presentation.

Sarge deserved the sin binning, as it was contact with the head. But I can’t help thinking he was unlucky. He timed his ‘tackle’ to perfection and from the front on replay, you could see his eyes were on Shaul’s midriff. That is where his arms went, but unfortunately Shaul got his head there first. Don't think It deserves a ban on top of that. It will be a shame if he misses the semi because of it.

Carnster being fair to Brown over the past two matches all the try play has been on the left where Brown dictates. My disappointment is Tui. Had a great game a few matches ago but the rhs doesn't seem to be working. His tackling has improved but with his size and speed he needs to attack the line more for me. And Brown is 36 so he needs to manage his game time. I think without him we'd be lost.

I struggle with the comment that Brown was ‘fairly average’. We’d have lost without him so that’s a decent yardstick. I also thought Tui played well, although he continues his lifelong battle to control his weight. It was our half backs, and Inu,wot won it

Everything good that we did last night came from him.

During the summing up I think someone said Nial Evalds was the best Salford signing in the last 25 years, mmmmmm!
Watto describing Jacko and the Kev was really interesting too!

Good gutsy win, I enjoyed that. Probably could/should have scored a few more, but a win's a win.
Hope Sarge doesn't get a ban though, hopefully the sin-binning is deemed sufficient.
Inu was the man of the match for me. Is he definitely off at the end of the season? I'd keep him in a heartbeat, he's quality, and a decent goal kicker too.
I enjoyed Williams' try in particular. I always think "what are you doing?!?!" with a kick like that on the first tackle in decent field position, but it's great when it comes off.
On to Warrington on Tuesday now, it'll be interesting to see the team selection given we're playing them again in the cup on the Saturday. Maybe we'll rest a few?

Also, surely that Fash for Hull should've got 10 mins for that cannonball tackle?!
