Curious decision.

I think so to. The losses that they had were very tight margins against decent opponents. I could certainly see progress in Hudds under him. Seems a weird one, unless they already had someone in mind. Where's your money? McDermott?

I'd say RE: Mcdermott. If the Decision on the 25th September Doesn't allow Toronto back in SuperLeague then Old Mr Happy will have the job by the beginning of October.

My fear with this is Watson will be on the radar.
Double fear is that he'll be interested in the in a slightly disfunctional squad, a decent salary cap and an easy commute.

With respect to Hudds, Watson's ambitions should be aiming higher than a sideways move to a Yorkshire version of Salford. I'd hope so anyway.

I’d be very disappointed (and surprised) if Watto went there. Not long since signed a new deal. If one of the big 4 came up, the England job or an NRL gig maybe but can’t see him leaving for anyone else
McDermott could be a good shout if Toronto don’t get back in
From reading the comments from Hudds it sounds like they didn’t want to keep him cos he said he’s going at the end of the season. They’ve improved massively under him and still in with a shout of top 4. Must be something we don’t know about yet

Agree he goes now and contract not paid up would save a few bob with nothing to lose this year.

He could have a new job lined up in the NRL already... Griffin, the new St George coach, is having a clear out of back room staff and the current assistant/caretaker coach has already said he won't he hanging around for next season. A few other NRL clubs are still on the coaching merry-go-round for next season, too.
