The wife asked me if yawnistas train so hard why are they so rubbish? And I said because they train hard at a rubbish game.
It was said on here just because something is new it doesn't make it good and that applies equally to something that's been hanging around for years and years because it's what we've always done!

"The Sale director of rugby, Steve Diamond, has called on the authorities to get rid of lengthy delays caused by scrums, which he believes are blighting the modern game, saying their entertainment value to rugby is “what King Herod was to babysitting”."
"A rugby league scrum is used to bring the ball back into play in situations where the ball has gone out of play over the touchline or a player has made a mistake, a knock-on or forward pass, except when that mistake has occurred on the last tackle of a set of six tackles. A scrum is also used in the rare event that the ball bursts or the referee interferes with the movement of the ball."
"But rather than get rid of it, the NRL this season has made it central to the contest.
Not by changing the scrum itself, but by changing where it happens."
