This seems to have gone on the back burner but just read SBW was considering not playing for Toronto next year. If I was the one paying his wages I'd be over the moon. Reportedly $5 M for his short stay. For Sydney he's coming on for about 20 min, totally off the pace, making no impact. To me he's gone, sadly.

It may be being an SRD fan but I still think it's already been decided.

I think they're submitting the new plan today, and the new owner will speak to it sometime next week. Then Sal clubs consider and make a decision.
Latest reports are that Toronto see potential difficulties with CV19 into 2021 with travel, grounds etc and may have to camp in the UK for all next season.
The question still remsins, who'll want to play for them? If they're serious be better to leave it a while and go into the same league as Ottowa. Sad but real.

Rightly or wrongly,I think the new ownership is predicated on membership of Superleague. I doubt that will happen

It appears that Toronto might not get readmitted to SL, this makes (in my opinion) it more likely we'll get punished for not fielding a team last week.

Amazing you can cancel because of CV with no penalty but if you play all your matches by keeping your team safe and clear of CV , and the team becomes wrecked you might get penalised for having too high a workload In RU miss a game because of CV and you lose the match 14-0

Laughing stock, we look like total amateurs.
How long before we have Beaumont Leigh will take their place?
Gives the powers that be more scope to fine and dock points for last week.

I highly doubt it'll happen but this entire episode should prompt SL and the RFL to develop a strategic plan for expansion of the sport and the model for how it'll happen. What markets are we targeting and how are we going to develop sustainable clubs there?

While I was hoping that they would be let back in, the details of TWP's submission are shocking. It appears that the submission was half-hearted and amateur. With very little commitment beyond let us in and everything will be fine. When asked how they basically said you have to let us back first. Apparently, video calling with the new Canadian backer was done from his car on his way home.
While I'm sad that the TWP fans are left with nothing, it appears that the decision is less about parochial ideas and more to do with an awfully amateur submission which has left clubs with little option in voting. Apparently, quite a few clubs were happy to have them back but the poor way the new backer has gone about things has meant they voted the other way.
I know it's quite fashionable to slag our sporting body off, but sometimes the reasons are more grey than black or white.
