You wouldn’t be able to insure this in relation to a tv rights contract You can generally insure against a contract failing, due to adverse circumstances. It's had a good track record over the years. interesting. I bow to your better knowledge

It's just the cost but as the major source of income, seems safeguards not in place in some form. So 28 players, an Ave of £10k each down or less overseas players. Presumably NRL will suffer something as well so presumably it'll just even out at a lower level, except for,, ,Toronto. Never dull

Deep down we all know the RFL will have botched something somewhere.

Who'd've thought there'd be any upside to not being included in the TV deal?
It's a pity we don't act as groups anymore and inform Sky we're all cancelling Sky Cinema in protest.

They are in a completely different situation to us but it gives some perspective especially as we have no reserves at all - Leeds anticipate £4m loss due to the current situation.

The loss is almost unbelievable but he says it,so it must be true. It’s over 18 months. We don’t know how big the loss would’ve been without lockdown or whether it includes payments for the ground upgrades. I just find it difficult to attribute that size of loss just to the lockdown

Yeah, if I was a cynical man I’d say this was a good time to bury that sort of bad news. I’m sure they will have repayments from the rebuild that contributed. They also spent/wasted a fair bit on players lately (they effectively paid us part of Tui’s contract). Thought it was interesting and worth sharing anyway though as it highlights the difficulties many are facing.

I wondered if that £4,000,000 might include loss of earnings from the facilities being unused when cricket is being played.
