The Eton Old Boys Society IE: The British Government Has just announced that competitive sport can restart behind closed doors from Monday 1st June, Eton itself is not opening until at least September, and given that the government is trying to force poor people's schools to restart this is not surprising or any less worrying.

Doesn’t the fact that Eton is part residential make their situation more complicated ? Not sure what it’s about but it’s not only poor peoples schools reopening.

Again it's crazy that there hasn't been an announcement from the RFL about restart dates and solutions to get all the scheduled games in and the CC too.
There is in effect nothing much to stop them starting July 1st thus giving them 4/5 months to cram everything in.
Still think the best option is a winner takes all league and then some sort of 9's road show comes seasons end to get each team a bigger than normal pay day, the play offs can't be on this year as it is imperative that all teams get to maximise incomings for the rest of the season rather than missing the top 5 and then basically ending the season.

I thought we were starting first weekend in August? They are just ironing out the details but three options were published. The current ban on ‘contact’ sports and lack of money for testing, etc prevents an earlier start I think.

I'm sure there's some Illumuni of Eton who are Members of this forum🤥 who would surely know Etons terms timetable, I was at Oxford for a term. Abingdon & Whitney college of further education for a year while stationed around there, Same as The Dreaming spiers of Oxford. Probably. A idea for when RL Restarts An extra Replacement on the bench as the Premier league are having until the end of the season.

Yes when we restart is the most important thing for the sport and what it'll look like when we do.
I'm holding out for being a Fan it the Stand to give SRD a bit of help.
I did wonder if we'd have the crowd sounds like Oz but could only imagine ref abuse and gerem onside.

Just seen something on the Labbc party website that a football team in Denmark had a drive in game, would that work with RL, might be a good money earner if possible.

Bit of a shambles in the making, apparently the minute the players start training again they come of the furlough scheme.
Can see teams with cash get NG back training sooner giving them a distinct advantage.
Wonder if the RFL can impose a min/max time for a mini pre season?

MR the three restart options were all set out a few weeks ago - give it a Google. Basically everyone will start training at the same time though. Discussions are ongoing but clubs are favouring ‘option 1’ and a November Grand Final at the moment.
