Can't make my mind if this a crazy idea or a stroke genius, I have never thought about the increased revenue if televised games have 2 additional breaks, as a traditionalist I don't like it but can see how this might be appealing.

Regardless of whether it’s taken on or not, it’s exactly this type of thinking that we’ll need. Tradition will have to take a backseat for a year or two. I can see where he’s coming from.

It's not a bad idea. The Aussies trialed it in a match earlier this year. I think people would get used to it.

Unprecedented times. Anything that helps has to be considered. If we have to play 3 games a week then something like this might be needed. But having just watched the million pound game, we didn’t start playing for 78 minutes so a 60 minute game wouldn’t have been much use for us then!

I'll always be a RL fan. These things have got to be worth a try. The only thing that worries me about a four quarters game is that in those fifteen minute bites, teams may be more likely to go for any points on offer. Leading to more attempts at goal and more drop goal attempts. For me, this would be a step backwards towards our Union roots.

Better than the season being scrapped. My preferred option if we get up and running would be to scrap magic weekend, then the loop fixtures and, finally, playoffs.
Not good for the income of the clubs I know but at least it will be rugby league as we know it.

The NRL All Stars games are now 4 quarters and there doesn't seem to be a lack of intensity or a kick whenever possible mentality to those games. If you kept the break between Q1/Q2 and Q3/Q4 to two minutes each, you can get some extra advertising in as well as allowing the players to mentally and physically reset without losing any intensity in the game.

The reason why the NRL all starts games are played in 4 quarters is , the games are normally played in temps above the 30 degrees, and not because of any thing else. They also play some of the normal games in 4 quarters if the temps above 30 degrees.

So long as there's not an advert at every scrum or try and it doesn't last 4 hrs, might be ok.

That's as may be but my point was that games being split in to 4 quarters hasn't resulted in a return to Unionesque tactics and, as a format for getting some extra advertising revenue in, it is a viable option.

When the NRL go to 4 quarters there are no adverts, it is a quick 2 mins at the most,
