My big hope is that SL chairman come in behind the Doc and Make it the flagship it quite clearly has so far failed to be.
I also hope he continues just the way he has, as he makes life far more interesting than so many people in the game who seem to suffer from CBA syndrome most of the time. I want to see more passion to be honest. And I don't see a problem with it, the RFL need to grow up and grow a pair and learn take it on the chin.By the way I'm not an RFL basher either.
Sorry if it seemed like I had got the hump everyone, I promise I hadn't. It's not disagreeing that bothers me just the constant bashing of the Doc which should just be for poor journalists and fans of other clubs in my book.

With the best will in the world, it doesn't matter what you think the RFL should do. It doesn't matter what I think the RFL should do either. We aren't the ones who run the game, set the rules and hand out the punishments. The RFL might well be a colossal shower of bellends but they're the only show in town, so antagonising them can only ever be counter-productive. What good is waving a big cheque around in front of the cameras versus handing out six point deductions? Now if behind the scenes Koukash is building alliances with other chairmen to enact meaningful change, then that's another matter altogether...

The RFL should be above being antagonized by disagreement and criticism. The Doc doesn't have to quiet and nor do you. That's what makes it so great. The cheque was a right good laugh and little more.

The way he works is what makes him unique something we don't celebrate in the UK anymore, sadly. Yes you don't tell the rule people you're going to break them. But didn't he say he was going to use the same methods as others to get round the rules? This would suggest someone(maybe more than one) said this was going on and clubs were getting away with it. And this is what the punishment was for, rather than the breach itself.

Again, I feel like you’re missing my point. It doesn’t matter if they should be, of course they *should* be, but what matters is if they are. If they aren’t above that then Koukash’s antics are clearly detrimental. So which is it: *should* the RFL be above it or *are* they above it?
FWIW, I don’t think there’s any convincing evidence either way, I just think the smarter strategy is to play the game.

RL is where it is, and SRD are where they have been for so long because of all the people who played the game.
The "You can't fight County Hall" part of your argument was not lost on me stouffer, I just think it's says more about us than county hall when we accept it as some sort universal truth.

I’d say the bigger reason we are where we are is that we’ve never had someone able to throw as much money at it as Koukash. I don’t buy the idea that you can’t buy success in rugby league, just that it takes a bit of patience - Warrington, Cats, Shudds and Hull have all challenged towards the top(ish) end of the table and there’s no reason we couldn’t either.
I’m not saying kissing RFL backside is right btw, but that Koukash’s tactics don’t seem smart either for the success of Salford or for effecting change at the top.

You see stouffer there's lots we agree on. I just don't think MK has to change.

We’re nearly 100% agreed Russ. I’m all for winding up the rest of the ’rugby league family’ - I just wish he’d wait until we’re top of the table before doing it.

What is funny is how being fun has become a one way street on T'Interweb and, at the same time, vile is everywhere. The protection of their anonymity seems to be at fault in that. It's one of the main reasons I'm on here and no where else now!

IMO I think he needs a trusted RL CEO in an administrative role there and a replacement for Sheens to assist a relative young coach, He also can't start cutting costs now, he needs to invest if he wants to be successful. Agree or don't its just what I think. Cheers
