For once RL looks like it might not only do the right thing but also the sensible thing.

So if Wakefield Finish bottom of the Superleague they don't have to spend there annual ground maintenance budget of £173.39 per year again.

According to forty twenty magazine Ralph Rimmer has said
"...the suspension is going to be considerably longer than the three-week period we had initially confirmed."
Not very surprising

According to this players are close to being put on unpaid leave.
Would they not be subject to the Governments offer to pay 80% of someones pay?
Not entirely sure if I would be comfortable with that while some people are getting nothing but surely there is a argument to be made they are entitled to some form of support.

Yes but it’s a max of £2.5k a month though.

If on unpaid leave, players and staff cost the club next to nothing. To qualify for the government scheme employees have to be retained and paid. As stated, they can claim back 80% from government up to a maximum of £2,500 per month. They still have to find the rest.

Hadn't understood that as it doesn't pertain to me.
You'd hope that the club and players can reach some agreement, 1 thing I hope doesn't happen after this has all ended is that players use payment issues as a way to gain leverage to leave clubs (not just Salford but in RL as a whole.

MR, I have to apologise because the employer can make up the balance but is not forced to do so.
