in League Express this morning saying that Gloucester are sniffing around Jackson for next season, offering him more money than Wigan, however although he has a release clause it may be only for the NRL but we all know contracts mean nothing , money talks.

When Wane ignore him and Austin, I wondered if he had heard something. No doubting Gale's ability but equally no doubting Hasting's ability.

Gales average at best.I don't think I would find a place for him in the top 50 stand offs I have seen in my 67 years of watching the game. Just my opinion.

Hastings won’t go to Union, different skill set for a half back. Fake news. Hope he finds a gig in the NRL

To be fair he’s a scrum half so that’s not much of an insult 😉

I never understood people saying he wouldn’t settle there, always felt like a good match to me. I think he’ll be there until at least the end of 2021

Quite agree about Gale he is a support player. He does nothing on the field, just passes the ball about, much like Sneyd

I remember how fans moaned about the likes of Clinch and Dobson as players who just shifted the ball around and then when they left we fell apart. Proper scrum halves do an unsung job at times. Gale is a good player. Different to Hastings but a good player nonetheless.

I think he’d make a brilliant fly half.

I think he’d make a brilliant fly half. I don’t watch any Union but don’t you need to be able to kick? His kicking game isn’t great lets be honest.

Stephen Myler who was here (2005?) and moved to Northampton, then to London Irish I think, and not half as good as JH, but could kick turned out to be a great success. The one thing they do teach half backs in RU is how to kick, lots of kicking coaches. John Wilky got the England RU coach down when we were having problems in the David Hodgson era.
I think he'd be a brilliant scrum half, bit like the bald headed Irish guy from Munster who retired a couple of years ago.??

Two totally different games, rules positions etc. How many have left RL for Union and succeeded Not many I can assure you of that. Fly half in Union is all about kicking, field position and territory. If JH went to Union which he wouldn’t bang goes his chance of a return to NRL

He'd never make a Union stand off but a great Union scrum half. Lots of players change between RU and RL in Oz and NZ. The Irish scrum half; Peter Stringer, played like Hastings. He's strong, bright, fast over 25, great passing game and will only need the shorter kicking game. I see why Gloucester want him. Have a look at Faf de Klerk, SA World Cup winner now with Sale, he's not got a great kicking game but he's just like JH in open play.

I think Jacko could play in the centre in the way union is played these days.
