I think goalkicking was crucial to our success last year and was a massive part of the improved results we had.
Psychologically it makes a major difference in games.Take Sunday where the extra six would have put us much nearer to their score and in with a chance.Mentally to be ahead ,to be level,to be in touching distance made such a difference last year.
Lets be honest there aren't many undroppable players at the moment.Diminishing the quality level a little to shoe horn in a kicker is a worthwhile sacrifice.

How long is Inu out for? In fairness Tui nailed most of the goal kicks in pre season, even the difficult ones. Our main problem has been letting teams steamroll through us in the middle meaning a lot of our opponents tries have been closer to the sticks.

Inu has a calf injury i believe so will be out for sometime. Most of our tries this year have been well out wide and unluckily our kickers always seem to have to kick into gale force winds.

The kicks this year have been nearly impossible because of the conditions.
We should be utilising both a left and right footed kicker, that way they can bend the ball into the wind.
Don't think we have a cat in Hells chance anytime soon of scoring down the middle so the kicks are going to remain tricky.

Last season with Pauli on loan he scored. This year with him Ikafeno, Roberts, Mossop, Dudson we must have short passing moves from 10 yards out by Joey and Brown.
Every other club has these simple moves.

Every other club has these simple moves. . Pass the ball out and then drop it back inside to PP on the charge and he'd be unstoppable. Joey has been sussed for his dummy and go move so have a PP thundering in near him and the defence won't know who to cover. I've often wondered what the reaction would be if the hooker took the ball near the line and just stood up and didn't move, something along the lines of this youtu.be/Ln3RWKyUouQ |

Let's give some respect to our back room staff: looking at PP last season, I would never had him doing the minutes he's done in the matches this seasn.
