Hello one and all. I haven't posted on here before but have been a regular reader of this forum for a good while. I feel the need to post now because I cannot begin to describe my elation at the result of the MPG. I am sorry to say I was one of the people invading the pitch but having a tear up couldn't have been further from my mind. I was gripped by a steward and offered to leave by my own means but he felt obliged to ask another steward to help him march me out and then pushed me into a bunch of KR fans presumably hoping I would get a hiding. Luckily for me the said fans patted me on the back and congratulated me on our result. Which is commendable. I only ran on the pitch out of emotion as I'm sure many did. I've been watching Salford for twenty five years and have never been involved in any trouble at rugby and don't want to see it.
Marwan has posted on twitter that we're not getting our £1M. My question is did last years winners get it? If there's no 'tayter hash' why is it called the million pound game? They should call it the most rubbish form of relegation game. I feel for the Hull KR mob(a bit, admittedly not much) to get relegated like that is cruel. Fair play to Gaz O'Brien though, I've been raving about him all year and yesterday he wrote himself into history where I'm concerned. I hope we can build on this and go on to great things. The turnout proves that despite the RFL wanting to see Salford relegated(my opinion), we can turn out in force and on our day can beat anyone in SL. While I'm on the subject of the RFL, this is the same authority that allowed a club chairman to also be their chairman. Conflict of interest? Bent more like. I won't name the club but the chairman in question was called Maurice
Anyway, I've had my say. I'm sure I'll have another now I've set this account up.
Big love to all the devils

Welcome to the forum rednotdead.
You're right in saying it was an emotional roller coaster yesterday. It was like all the Salford anguish over the last thirty odd years manifested itself into 85 minutes of RL. I'm still giddy this morning, and I think the feeling will last all off-season to be honest. I really hope that this will be the catalyst to finally get a season of RL free of turmoil and off-field shenanigans next season.
What an amazing end to a game of RL.

I also feel like I need to post for the first time - I woke up this morning and still couldn't quite believe what happened. I don't think I will ever witness something like that again in my life! I'm not ashamed to say I ran on the pitch for the try and the DG, I don't know what came over me, I've never ran on a pitch before (even at the willows) but the pure emotion of that moment just spilled out from everyone - how can anyone blame us after years and years of rubbish plus this nightmare of a season?? Yes there were a few idiots (both sets of fans) doing a bit of scrapping, but the large majority of us were just caught up in the ecstasy of that moment.

Same here. Honestly haven’t felt like this after a game since we knocked Wigan out of the cup 20 odd years ago.

Have not been watching Salford anywhere near as long as most people on here. As such yesterday was by miles the best game I have ever attended. I followed utd home and away in the eighties and early nineties but have never felt elation like I did yesterday. Just read a blog by willows road, don't know if he posts on here, but it brought a tear to my eye. I have been watching the videos all day and when out in the car had the bbc radio Manchester audio boom on loop. Been a bit down hearted like everyone else toward the end of the season. Yesterday though renewed my faith and can't wait now for next year. Our fans were awesome yesterday. I hope the tiny handful that left with 5 mins to go got back in or they must be devastated.

Yesterday was the day i fell back in love with my rugby club. Its an affair i have had for 40 years or so. Often strained regularly disappointing but occasionally breathtaking. The last six months have been the worse, reaching the point of no return was only a moment away. Indeed right up to the last two minutes of yesterday i was ready to look at what i did next...and then it happened. The spirit of those boys in Salford shirts finally burst through the mediocrity of recent times. The moment that drop goal sailed over completely rekindled my flickering flame of love back into the roaring inferno it was back when i first watched Salford. Always the underdog...always on the brink of disaster often in a pantomime way...unloved and unwanted by the powers that be and some in our own back yard. But yesterday was OUR day...a day to relive time and time again whenever our die-hards meet. What the future holds we do not know but for now i remember what loving your club through thick and thin really means. Well done Boys...lets come back bigger and better in 2017...Altogether now" I see the Salford Reds arising..."

Great words exiledred. Exactly how I felt. I was ready to give up this great game because our club was unwanted and unfairly treated. When we lost to London, I felt the players had given up too. But yesterday has brought it all back. Even the first 75 minutes, when there were players on the pitch who had no right to be there with injuries and they fought to the bitter end. The last 5 minutes. Wow. Been there before, too many times to count. But on the receiving end. Too many false dawns in the past, but this has to be the Salford Reds Arising.

Your post sums up all Salford fans. Just think, in the next close big game where the scores are close, (or not) the commentators will be saying " are they going to do a Salford"
