I will be taking a look at the history of Salford RLFC players in the coming months,To start this series I would like to discuss Andy Coley. I was watching a few matches from the 2005 season and Andy Coley was immense. We all know he went on to have success with Wigan but what are your thoughts on his stint with Salford? Did his departure totally sour his Salford Career? Whenever we discuss great players of recent teams I have noticed Coley has often been omitted, I would think that this is purely down to his controversial departure from The Willows. So let's talk - Coley , Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down. Andy Coley Salford City Reds 2001-07 Apps 158 Tries 36

Mainly thumbs up. Like leaving any relationship under a cloud, it's going to sour many people's opinions. He was certainly a stand-out player and stand-out forward in SL at the time, so nobody can take it away from him. I don't think he ever forgave me for showing the world that he looks like a giant version of Warwick Davies. It certainly followed him to Wigan...

I don't think it was simply the fact he left that caused the feelings with the fans it was more the fact he was so lazy in that last season and his poor attitude that cost us so many games.

Aye, think some people leave in a good way, ratch, hodgson. I'd throw Patterson in there too he tried til the end. The likes of coley and myler didn't seem to put that same effort in. Time helps forget that though, and remember the great performances instead. Or maybe I'm just getting older and a bit more relaxed Either way, id say his time with us was positive.
