The thread about the new Aldi made me think if the new Metrolink line to the Chav Centre might have a positive impact on match day traffic, wonder if people who now drive might get a tram to the TC and then get themselves across the new bridge?
Wonder if anyone will organise a shuttle to accommodate anyone who does.

It's a good half an hour walk from the AJ Bell to the Trafford Centre which might be a bit off-putting for some. It's a bit deceptive because you can literally drive it in minutes (traffic depending of course). It'd be good if they could have a shuttle bus - depends on cost and potential uptake I suppose though.
I doubt it'll have too much of an effect on traffic unless they did introduce a shuttle service. The new tram line only goes through Trafford Park. It might help a few away fans coming via Manchester though.
It'd be good one day if they could extend the tram line over the new bridge to the stadium, and even onto Irlam and Cadishead.

I usually walk it from there but do wish they’d sort out a proper path round the back of the stadium as it would make it much more inviting for people who don’t know where the gap in the fence is.

There were only three people on it. It didn't run for long. Salford fans come from the other side of the Ditch mainly, so the TC shuttle bus isn't much use to the vast majority. It works for those driving to the ground from a fair distance away or blokes dropping their wives off for a spot of retail therapy (my reason), but wasn't worth it for regular fans.

Don't think anybody knew about it Tony, so I'm not surprised it wasn't used. I go that way and always see lots of people walking

On the Trafford centre metrolink Wikipedia page there's a map of the new line As well as two possible new stops to be added in the future, I'm assuming they were added some years ago by whoever wrote it as it's down as Salford Reds. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trafford_Park_Line
