As I've mentioned with the starting 13 there's only a few that would be 100% confirmed. We'll Just have to wait to saints away to see how we line up because with the combinations I have no clue so many potentials.

Lots of valid choices discussed here. I agree a lot will depend on the friendlies and especially how they go in pre-season training and there may well be a few surprises with how Watto lines them up at saints.
I forgot about Williams and Kear when I made my post. Given his success last year I can definitely see Williams pushing for a starting wing spot and Kear providing good cover in the centres. Josh Johnson also won’t be far off a spot.
There is less of a gap between the first 17 and the rest of the squad than I have ever known at Salford. Great for competition and to keep people on their toes. Will be interesting to see how Watto manages those who aren’t getting in the 17 most weeks but are used to being first choice.
The least cover is at halfback. If brown is injured (and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t miss at least 6 games) we don’t have another organising half

I’ll be most interested in who is replacement hooker if Lussick needs a break. I prefer a “proper” hooker rather than someone like Tyke or Flash standing in.

I would have thought Atkin and Jones would be in line for that Jones is a good prospect. Thought one of the reasons Atkin wanted a move was because he wanted to play 7. |

Chief - You may well be right but I suspect he’ll play where he’s asked. I’m told he thinks it’s between him and Jones as the Back up 9 at the start of the season depending on how the rest of pre-season goes

Atkin will learn a lot from Kevin Brown. So Brown as the main scrum half this year with Atkin his deputy, and roles reversed next year?

As already stated bit light in the halves but real strength in depth everywhere else. I'm expecting top 4. Somebody pass me a cold compress 😂😂

Not too sure what people mean being light in the halves? I mean we we're never gonna recruit anyone as good as Hastings but apart from that the back up halves of Atkin is the best we've had for quite sometime

It's a fair point.
I think maybe we are expecting brown to be injured a lot therefore any injury to tui or atkin would put us in the doodoo.
If brown keeps fit you are correct atkin is better cover than we've had for ages.
