Beat me to it. If he stitches Wigan up on top of getting us to a Grand Final I’ll build his Salford statue myself.

Noticed on social media that he's still chilling in Australia. Surely, pre-season has already started for everyone in SL, even those that were on the tours. I wonder if an NRL return is on the cards for him?

Wigan have responded that he’s due back between Christmas and New Year so they must have given him an extended break. That doesn’t mean this isn’t true and Carter isn’t one for reporting nonsense to be fair to him. I’d imagine he’s angling for an NRL move - those on Twitter dreaming of a Salford return will have to keep dreaming.

I know a few people involved with the club and the over riding message is he doesn't want to switch and knows Salford is where is happiest.
Thing is though if he doesn't go I doubt we can afford to re sign him.
Odds on for me he goes to Wigan and stats as an unhappy player for 2020.

His heart obviously lies at home, and I think the only other place he truly feels an affinity towards is Salford. I also think that he'll be back and playing for Wigan, but I feel that it will be a poisoned chalice for him. All these stories will sit in Wigan fans minds forever. Whenever a poor performance ensues the whispers will come to the front.

People change their mind,it happens. The probability is he would win more at Wigan for some that would be enough, for others that's not the case. What ever he does I wish him well.

I’m not convinced. As others have said Gary Carter tends to be pretty spot on in his calls (unusual for a Sun writer!). But the quotes from Jacko don’t have anything to do with Wigan and there are no direct quotes from the ‘sources’. Might be his agent doing some fishing NRL interest maybe? It would seem out of character for the Jacko we know to back out. If he feels he will be unhappy at Wigan and won’t play well then I guess you’d say fair enough. And I hated the idea of him playing for Wigan. But players walking out on deals is not something I like or think should happen so he would go down a little in my estimation if he did

I see your point RUTB but it depends what it’s for. If it’s because after spending a few weeks at home he realises how much happier he is there then I see no problem with it. If it’s because his head has been turned by money then that is a different story.
But at the end of the day when it comes to jobs I personally think about what is best for me not what is best for the bigger, richer companies who will employ me - does that make me a bad person? Sport is slightly different but they do have much shorter careers that can end at any time.

I do know with 100% certainty that his family (after experienced the Wigan away win love) told him he's making a mistake but that he said he's signed so he will go.
I have no doubt that #JH30 will be a thing again in the future but not 2020.

Brisbane were sniffing around prior to the GF so I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up there.

Hastings signs for Brisbane. Wigan pay £300,000 for Brown. Salford saved for another year.

Just been told that this is partly the reason why Bleasey is in OZ in order to chat things through with him🤞

Just been told that this is partly the reason why Bleasey is in OZ in order to chat things through with him🤞 We don’t have any non fed trained quota spots left so how would that work? We’d have to bin someone off. I can see there being legs in the rumours linking him with the NRL but rumours linking him with us seem pretty far fetched.

He has not updated his twitter account since early November which is unusual. He has not issued a goodbye message to Salford fans which I imagine he would do. Maybe his time with the GB side and then being back home in Australia has messed with his head a bit, particularly following the season Salford ended up having. I dearly hope he comes back to Salford but I doubt the club have the capacity to have him now, unless Marwan dips in. I think though the main concern we have to have is that Jackson is alright. After his past problems which he has overcome at Salford it would be a great pity if they are resurfacing.
