Why would you use an agent mate?
Book your flights through Skyscanner and then either get an Air BnB (which is usually my method of accommodation) or book a Hotel through Booking.com (or check if the hotel is cheaper via direct booking).
I'd never go through an agent, you get ripped off and booking yourself is easy.

Said on another thread you need to explore looking at flying to all places within a couple of hundred miles, Detroit used to be quite cheap back in the day.
Around that part of the world I'd always recommend you hire a motor and travel as when you stay of the beaten track you get so much more of the US/Canada experience.
Get in an IHOP for breakfast and you have a carry out left for lunch.
