Seems that there's a good chance both JJ and Jacko will be playing on the weekend, can't think of the last time Salford had 2 players in the full national team.
I'm claiming both as still ours.

I've a signed Rugby Ball of the last ever GB Team, Courtesy of Gillette until it was brought back this year somewhere at home, So his name will probably be on it . Must get round to selling it. The only Signature I recognise is Sam Burgess.

Will be three Salford players playing in the Tonga test. Lolohea starts for Tonga. JH and JJ for GB. I bet something like that has not happened before.

I can see Jones making the bench. I have a feeling that Lomax and Widdop will play in the halves. Unless one of the plays a differebt position. They've both played FB internationally before, but we have Coote likely to start. I think they may have both played centre at some point and we aren't exactly blessed there given some injuries. What would your 17 be (question to all)?

Personally I think Lomax should start but then I'm not a fan of players from Oz representing the Lions.

The squad released has Hastings and Whiddop starting at half back and jones on the bench. it could change of course but that’s the plan as it stands I would have had Hardaker or Whiddop at FB ahead of Coote, Connor in the centre instead of Hardaker and either Williams or lomax partnering Hastings. I like Whidopp but I think the creativity of Hastings/Williams or Hastings/Lomax would be way better. As far as I can see we don’t have any specialist loose forwards in the squad? How Chris hill is in there ahead of almost every other British prop I’ve no idea

Yes brilliant read. The Mason incident really ended Fielden's career. Occasionally on Sky they show a 20 min clip of the famous Eng v Aus match ( Peacock, zFielden, Morley, Hock?), brilliant. Think that's the one where Hock said to the coach "have I got to sing that team song again before we play". Noble said "we haven't got one" but having thought about it realised it was the national anthem

The aussie have been cheating, sorry using south sea islanders for years, the only way they could beat us I just don't like it in any sport really but that's by the by, I think we'll struggle against the Kiwis but should beat a Tongan team in turmoil and PNG with the best will in the world are whipping boys. I still think it should be a full NZ tour with 3 tests and midweek games as in the good old days.
