I think the new JJ is more of a prop. Lannon would be welcome but i’d definitely like another.
Dudson has had two spells where he’s given a few sloppy penalties and I think both were when he was shattered (mid season just before he had a rest and then towards the end). Hopefully we’ll be able to rotate a bit more next year.
I’m not sure Welham has fixed his defence to be honest - he looked decidedly dodgy for a couple of playoff games but to his credit was excellent in the Wigan win again. Glad he re-signed but I’d lean towards Inu personally just because of his ability to offload and pass especially when our other centre isn’t known for his passing skills . Nice problem to have.
Griffin remains an enigma. Great engine but still suffers from the ‘quicksand effect’ sometimes. Also seems to miss key tackles out of the blue. I’m convinced it’s a mental thing as he has all the attributes. I wish him all the best.

I agree we will miss the work of Tomkins and Griffin. I don't think Tomkins offered much as an attacking threat out of dummy half but his attitude and workrate were first class. I think Yates can replace the workrate or Griffin. It would have been nice to have both. The thing I found frustrating about Griffin's penatlies were the stupidity of most. There was a perfect example against Wigan which I noticed when watching it back the following day. He was holding the Wigan player's wrist while he was stood up, body away from him, to stop him playing tha ball. The ref gave the penalty and he acted as if he hadn't done anything wrong. Those types of penalties are pure stupidity to give away. Costs territory and puts you under pressure. To be honest, I think sometimes they were tired penalties, he didn't get much of a break.

How do you pick the backs from...
Sio Williams Inu Chamberlin Sarge Kear Welham
Can only think he's brought Kear to keep the partnership with Williams, possibly...
Evalds Sio Sarge Kear Williams
Can't leave Inu out his kicking alone been top draw...maybe second row. In Watto we trust

Do think that bringing in Connor Jones is a bit of a master stroke, think about it Tomkins had a very ordinary start to the season yet played (for me) his best rugby at the end of the season, it is not a coincidence that Rowley came on board at the same time.
Willing to bet that by the end of the season Watson has a headache about who is his best hooker Joey of CJ.

Evalds Sio Inu Sarginson Williams Lolohea Atkin Mossop Lussick Dudson Pauli Greenwood Yates Jones Walker Burke McCarthy You wouldn't play Brown in the halves? I think PP would be better off the bench. Maybe bring him on at the same time as the rotation hooker--if we still rotate hookers next season

Interesting that not many seem to be including Flanagan in their 17s. I think he was instrumental in our play off run superb defence and his hands are always good. The back row is a challenge as we’ve got a 7 decent players for the 3 starters plus 1 on bench
I wonder if Burke and Yates will be used mainly in the front row as we only have 5 out and out props

From what Watson has said in interviews it seems to point towards Atkin a Lolohea

From what Watson has said in interviews it seems to point towards Atkin a Lolohea It'll certainly be interesting to see how it plays out. I think Brown will easily be our best HB next year. He's the most talented and composed of the three. My take it he educates Tui and Atkin for a year before they take over. Early days, but I can see Brown veing our most influential player. Pre-injury, he was still in the England squad. Nice to have a third option which we didn't really have this year.

I would like to be proven wrong but I still think it’s a bad signing. Let’s see when the season starts

Let’s see when the season starts Fair enough. Most signing have a division of opinion amongst fans. Maybe he is past it. Maybe he plays a bit part. I expect his contributions as a coach of sorts to the young players will be worth having him around. Every HB injured is a bit excessive. In 2018 he was selected in the elite performance squad which included Lomax, Williams and Gale. The only one missing is Widdop because only European based players are selected. Fans always find a scapegoat and Brown was the easiest target for Wolves fans as he was new to the team that year and they always think they are the best team in the league. How often is a player bagged by other fans when he joins a other club only to turn out okay? Didn't they think BMM for poor for a while? I'd rather trust Wayne Bennett's judgement than that of the Warrington fans. I'm not saying he's international class, he isn't, but he was a quality player for Huddersfield and Widnes. Considering our resources I think it's a shrewd signing to have him mentor young players in Tui and Atkin. When he retired from International rugby Bennett said: "Kevin has been the ultimate professional and shown a great attitude and an unwavering commitment to the England programme," Bennett said. "He contributed greatly to our performance at the World Cup and in the mid-season Test game against Samoa." I'm happy to have a player like that around Tui and Atkin.

Put it this way - Warrington fans would have much preferred Brown to Patton or Smith this year. They had free cap space but couldn’t find anyone.
Cas and Leeds have had to buy someone out of a contract. KR still only have one half back. Wigan have no 6. Catalans had to give a long contract to an old bloke. We should be grateful we’ve got ours sorted.
