Got 2 ex Salford lads going head to head tomorrow to win promotion to the Championship.
Scott Naylor at Oldham (and Salford next year if the scuttlebut is right) against Simon Finnigan of Newcastle.
Not entirely sure who I'd go for, although I do like a nice trip to Newcastle.

Don’t forget Toronto v Featherstone. Our hero Gaz against two of our new signings for next year.

Where as Fev have pretty much said if they win they'll stay part time next season and just get tonked left, right and centre.

What unfair treatment are they getting?

What unfair treatment are they getting? Well the obvious advantage of being able to play home games in blocks while visiting teams deal with jet lag is a massive start.

Is that what they are getting or have you just assumed? Not being funny here but nowt seems to have been announced other than they will be playing their early home games over here, won’t be getting central funding and will be paying teams travel/accommodation. Sounds like plenty of disadvantages to me.

Even then it’s not really any advantage as they have to suffer jet lag every few weeks whereas other teams have to suffer it twice a season at most? I’d be more concerned about what creative methods they are going to try and employ to get new players under the salary cap as they are already at the limit and no way that team is as good as it needs to be to meet their expectations.

I have a hunch they will try and get Smith or try to make Cronk postpone retirement for a year, they will max out on 3 big named marquee signings.
My point about the jet lag is that each team that goes over there will have to go through it but when they come here they will get more games in blocks so they don't feel the effects of it the same.

Understand that but my point is that it is still worse for them than everyone else so not really an advantage above the normal home advantage of a game that distance away (and vice versa).
Not sure 2 more marquee players will be enough - they’ll need to get rid of a fair few.

As I understand it they are going to be playing in blocks of 2 home/2away. I don’t think that is much, if any, of an advantage really

The very real downside to Toronto getting promoted is we have to listen to Mcdermotts bile again.
Apparently SL will only progress with big city teams.

Fingers and everything crossed for Toronto v Salford in Copenhagen! For our loop fixture. Great city and easy to get to.

Best get saving as it's expensive, like incredibly expensive. The idea is that instead of playing all their early home games here they do a few in European cities. Copenhagen is strongly linked and the one I’d fancy the most anyway. I used to live next door in Norway where it’s even more expensive but it’s not that bad and getting there is cheaper than it costs me to get from London to our home games. Hotels should be cheap enough at that time of year as well.
