Let’s hope Moose gets the chance on Sky to say something about this.

Let’s hope Moose gets the chance on Sky to say something about this. If the unthinkable happens on Friday you know Sky will keep Mossop away from the cameras, the sooner Sky has nothing more to do with RL the better for.

Good stuff - if nobody calls him out the plonker will just carry on talking nonsense. It’s not just us - he talks garbage about every team but Wigan.

They are more likely to keep him away from the cameras if Salford win. Can't wait to see Moose's comeback if we win.

Wigan have to win hook or by crook and Clarke’s dig is part of it, the best way of answering him is a win for the Reds.

If I was Ian Watson I'd put that up in the Changing room before the game. What a way to motivate Salford?

If we're safe with 5 minutes left I'll start the "Championship, Clarke is a tw@t" chant (to the "Championship, you're having a laugh" tune)😁

I’m struggling to get wound up by this. I love moose’s response and let’s hope it inspires us to put an extra few % in on the terraces and the pitch But the truth is it was meant to be a compliment. Just that Clarke struggles to get through a sentence without resorting to ridiculous over statement. The sentiment behind it is similar to Hastings saying we don’t have the most talented group of players. Clarke was saying the team is more than it’s parts and that Watson has got the squad playing at a much higher level than anyone expected. To say they’re all championship players is inaccurate, extremely clumsy and ill judged. But I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read the phrase ‘championship player at best’ about any number of our signings by posters on here over the last few years (including the last few weeks) so I’m not really buying into the outrage I hope the lads can use it on the pitch tomorrow. But I won’t be joining the lynch mob

But I won’t be joining the lynch mob We are not paid pundits on a broadcaster who’s interest is to promote the game so have much less need to watch what we say on a semi-public forum. He’s also paid to provide balanced views but has previous with spouting nonsense- I had a bit of a Twitter rant about him after the Wire-Cats incident as he was talking utter garbage then as well but it’s almost a weekly occurrence now. He seems to be enjoying the attention of saying daft things a little too much. No outrage or calls for lynching from me but I don’t think he’s up to the job he’s paid to do.

He’s paid to help Sky make money. Saying controversial stuff generates interest and therefore publicity. Not a big fan but he’s backed Salford at least as many times as he’s bagged them. As I say it was a back handed compliment. Don’t agree about the players being championship standard (but plenty have on here) but I do agree that we’ve far exceeded expectations and that under a different coach we wouldn’t have done nearly so well

Good presenters (and journalists while we are at it) can generate interest without resorting to cheap tricks. It is a general pet peeve of mine though so I’ll leave it there before I ramble on about it.

Gary Schofield and Brian Carney = the Adrian Durham of Rugby League i.e. shock jocks who want a reaction.
