Why cant everybody's efforts and the monies raised go directly to the club so that it can go towards keeping the club going and the club can prioritize just what the money is spent on. It may appear to outsiders that we are not all working to the same aim.

It may appear to outsiders that we are not all working to the same aim. Of course we are working to the same aim but the club has asked the Supporters Trust to raise funds for the Reserves initiative so it has to be collected as a separate fund so it be accounted for in a financially prudent way. Ultimately it will be spent by the Reserve Team Manager, John Blackburn, on those priorities such as player wages, kit, match officials, transport, insurance and pitch fees should we need to hire them.

It may appear to outsiders that we are not all working to the same aim. I agree with this. Personally I don't mind where the money is used; ultimately it is beneficial to the club as a whole. My rationale for plucking for the shirt sponsorship was mainly to reinforce that we are a community-driven club, although I also agree to an extent with redunderthebed and his comments. Neither DevilTalk or Salford Faithful are commercial entities with vested interest in profiteering from being a main sponsor.

The Mitsubishi deal would have been worth a few bob and i so I can assume that they have tried, without success, to replace that income with one shirt sponsor. I don't know how many £1ks they need to replace that but i imagine they would need a fair few. If DT were to sponsor the reserves in some form you would great visibility and probably for a lower figure. Mitsubishi didn’t renew and the replacement that was lined up went bust apparently. Thomas Cook?

We hope to monetise the list so that we can raise money for the Reserves I might be able to help you with this. Send me a PM if interested.
As for the £1,000, perhaps having a product is the way the go. Let’s say an A4 certificate with a person’s name on it saying they are an official shirt sponsor for the 2020 season. I think it would make a good gift for the Salford fan in your life. Just make sure you set the profit margin high enough for potential sales, e.g:
£10 profit = 100 sales to goal £7.50 profit = 134 sales to goal £6.67 profit = 150 sales to goal
£5 profit = 200 sales to goal
Think about crowdfunding it using the all or nothing model. You’ll instill a bit more confidence this way.

The problem I can see with this is that the £1000 doesn't guarantee that the donor will be a shirt sponsor; it's just to be in with a shout. We can't sell an A4 certificate saying they are a shirt sponsor if there's a good chance they won't be.

FWIW they have extended the draw by another week, presumably to cash in on our unexpectedly long season and our rising stock.

Not got much time to divulge the thread as in work and currently trying my best to not let my head implode.😂
Whatever is decided from the suggestions above I'm in. Just let me know what/where/when.👍
