I'm debating whether to get the train to Wigan on Friday, rather than driving.
I'm okay with getting there, but it's getting home again; National Rail only seems to have the 2250 and 2255 back to Manchester (I don't think the one before those at 2146 would be feasible, unless I do a "Wigan walk").
Did anyone get the train back from Wigan the other week? Thoughts? I'm just a bit concerned that it'll be absolutely rammed, considering the number of tickets we've sold already, and we might not be able to get on. I don't want to be stuck in Wigan!

It was ok last time - I managed to get a seat and despite the loss the general mood was tired, drunk and jolly rather than anything else. I’ll be getting the train again but expect it to be busier.

Thanks - as long as we can squeeze on it'll be fine. I suppose we could always take it on the chin and get a taxi as a last resort.

There's a coach going from White Lion in Swinton if you're anywhere near there lemmy (or anyone else if they fancy it). Just checking with mate who has organised it but think there are spaces left. It was initial quote of £15 p/p return but think it'll work out cheaper as that was based on minimum numbers turning up. I'll come back and post on here if it's an option as it may suit a few people not to have to f*ck about with Northern Rail! Edit: Looks like there are 2 spaces free. Gonna be around £10 return.

Thanks salfordslim but I think we're alright, all arranged to meet up and go from the centre of Manchester. The nerves have started to kick in a bit now...
