Apart from the world changing events of September 11th today marks 8 years since the end of the Willows.
Such a sad occasion and in some odd way terrible that the date for us as Salford fans will always be shared with an event that changed the world for ever.
That we (as per) fluffed our lines was heartbreaking at the time, after the fact I reflected that I'd seen 1 of the greatest ever players to grace the Willows have a stormer, Steve 'Beaver' Menzies was for me 1 of the best running 2nd rowers I've ever seen and it was fitting he graced the Willows for her grand finale.

And I'm still waiting for my piece of Commemorative Willows Turf 🤨 It’s in a warehouse somewhere with the Myler money and James Jiminez.

Yes I wonder too....as regards it not feeling like home..it wont until we start making memories which have passed us by....memories like winning the championship in the early 70`s, Fielding burning players for fun down the touchline, being in the Shed etc etc and I could go on. As regards making the AJ bell feel more like home, we need to start making those memories and it can start this weekend against Hull KR and trying to generate more atmosphere similar to the last home game against the Wire where the crowd I`m quite sure played a part in the victory and similarly to the away crowd at Leeds. It is not just about the crowd though....it is about winning and if we can get possibly get a home game in the play off`s then `who knows` where we may go. Imagine those memories of seeing Jacko and colleagues lifting the SL trophy at Old Trafford. Here `s hoping and dipping into those memories I have of our beloved Willows.
