Does anyone know what the plan is for the reserve team regarding the overseas quota?
If it stays at 5 overseas/7 non-fed trained but covers both the first team and the reserves then the new reserves will need to be all British players which is fine but just wondering if anyone had seen anything different- for example expanding the cap by one or two?
Matt Shaw tweeted that Connor Jones has a British passport (but is still non-fed trained). So that takes us to three quota players and six non-fed trained players. If we sign Connor Carey as rumoured that takes us up four quota players but to the current non-fed trained limit.

I haven’t heard anything about changing overseas/federation rules. I think the idea is to provide pathways for British players primarily

Fair enough- worth a punt as we are running out of room!

The plan is that the reserves will be a mix of 1st team squad members that are not currently in the first team; our own academy players judged to have progressed to the next stage and some fringe players from other clubs around Greater Manchester e.g. Manchester Lions, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford University.

Thats why I thought it might make sense to have some wiggle room with all the quotas. We shall see but I doubt it will happen.
