I think it goes without saying that this current Salford team is the best one we have seen in a long time.
I know Jacko (quite rightly) gets the plaudits, but I think a special mention needs to go to some of the players who consistently go under the radar but never fail to put in a shift, week in week out.
The three players that stand out for me this season who fit in to that category are Welham, Burke and Tomkins.
Thoughts?

Lussick has scored some crucial tries. Surprised that one of the ‘big’ clubs hasn’t come in for him.

McCarthy. Been outstanding the second half of the season. Always gives his all and can always be relied upon.

Can't think of a bad player. Olpherts got lots of criticism for dropping high balls but he made lots of yards when our backs were against the wall.
No it's a team game and the team as a total unit are fantastic.
Let's hope all those associated with the Club, Foundation and Supporters Trust can form the same team bond and get the Club moving in the right direction.

Dudson for me, so many people were dead against signing him but for me I'd have him as club captain next year, solid as a rock, looks after his halves and never takes a backwards step.

I completely agree. I think he started the season as an 'unsung hero' but he's actually just a flippin' hero now! |
