Love Rugby League ran with a story about Mitsubishi and Kappa pulling out of the club, Wild Thang has denied this re Kappa thankfully but I reckon it is probably the end for Mitsubishi which will be a shame if true. Are Red Hot Dutch still going?

Ha ha ha now Red Hot Dutch brings back some memories! Yeah Mitsubishi have put in a decent stint - don’t know why they haven’t renewed but the dearth of Sky exposure can’t have helped. Hopefully the two televised games in quick succession (and if we are really lucky a playoff spot) will help to entice a new sponsor- £60k isn’t much to have your name plastered across a Super League team’s kit.

The Mitsubishi sponsorship has been odd, huge multi national corporation and virtually nothing as a way of match day promotion, special projects or anything basically. Hastings drives around in a 19 plate motor so maybe player vehicles is the sum total of their involvement?
Sad state of affairs if we can't get companies from Trafford Park involved, maybe Metrolink is worth a nudge with the new line to the Chav Centre imminent and thus making the AJ Bell slightly more accessible.
Possibly Aldi with the new store next to the ground opening later 2019 early 2020.

What a great opportunity for Betfred to do a bit, they are quick to take our money in the form of betting why can’t they take a Punt on us.

Fred Done or Salboy has no interest in SRLFC and never has. He likes to promote himself as a Salford boy done good but will never put money into his local club.

If Done loved Salford he wouldn't be building the monstrosities he is down the Crescent corridor.

In fairness hes probably seen how poorly John Wilkinson was treated by the Salford fans and thought balls to that.

He’s a business man who didn’t grow up a Salford fan - he didn’t make his money by giving it away. I don’t get this argument that he owes us in some way.

He does not owe us anything & it is is right to spend his cash how he likes. I suppose when you put money into the Rugby League but see your home City club struggling & actively use images of being just a local guy who loves Salford, you might think he would be happy to show some support. Maybe being a successful business man he does not see a future for us?

Maybe being a successful business man he does not see a future for us? Maybe not that grim - probably just sees more benefit to putting his money into the league rather than us. I agree with your point though- a less cynical person might favour supporting his local club but I’m not sure we can hold it against him.

Prior to him sponsoring Super League, Fred did help us out during our last season at The Willows when he sponsored The Shed for a season for around £25k.
The disappointing thing is that whenever Fred was approached by Wilkinson to get involved in the club. Fred always said he was a Football man and didn't want to get involved in the Rugby League, even though he made his initial money off sweepstakes on the Salford matches as a kid (watch The Betfred Story). Moving forward a number of years, now he's headline sponsor for the completion and whenever you hear an interviews around Betfred's partnership with Super League he always speaks proudly of his passion for the game, which is b**lsh1t IMO. At the end of the day, the Rugby League sponsorship is perfect for Betfred as it's such a working class game and most of his bookies are in working class areas. This lays the platform for him to profit from the most vulnerable people in society. It's still an excellent sponsorship for RL though and I can't think of many better companies to have as our headline sponsor. They are the largest independently owned company in the North West and one of biggest in the UK. If only we had similar partnerships in place instead of Foxy Bingo and Bahelors Mushy Peas!! lol
Finally, and as people have already mentioned, ultimately it's up to Fred what he does with him money and if he doesn't want to help the club or watch them at the AJ then that's entirely up to him. It's his money and his life he can do what he wants and he's done a good job of it. Personally, I'd rather have an owner who has a vested interest in the club as opposed to someone just putting money in willy-nilly. I have the feeling that someone will come in soon, especially now the club has somewhat stabilised and with Watto and Bleasey doing a fantastic job. There's got to be someone out there who fancies a crack at a RL club.
