It has been announced in France that due to Mr Elstone( head of Superleague) asking for more money,Bein Sports will cease to broadcast Catalans home games. The money paid was reported to be 70,000 euro per season. Great shame as Saturday evening games were something to enjoy. Hopefully another broadcaster will take up the broadcasting.

I agree. He now has to demonstrate why. Does he feel it gives the brand away too cheaply and affects the big picture ? Ultimately he won’t be judged on shock clock and gimmicks,he’s been brought in to negotiate a deal to allow full time rugby league to prosper. We shall see.

So that opens up for games in catalan to be played thurs , friday , sat, or sun, which is not going to be good for any clubs fans, because sky will change the dates as they see fit.

Sky don’t have the direct rights to catalans home games. They get them from the deal with the French tv company. Are you assuming sky will stump up the required amount? And that Catalans will agree to play games on other days?

With french tv pulling out, sky will look to move in for some of the games like they do with all other teams, I also dont know how this will affect the money that the clubs get off sky, as i believe , catalans were not included as they had there own tv deal. So if sky do move in and start to broadcast with there own coverage cameras etc , i can see catalans under the control of sky to play there matches when they say, just like the rest of us.
