"Salford coach Ian Watson confident of avoiding relegation despite loss at Leeds...." Featherstone, London and Batley; wins or more banana skins?

The likely MPG at this stage is the Reds away at Hull KR, If(Big if) we string together three convincing wins that build confidence back in the team, then we stand an excellent chance of winning the vital game. if Hull KR also lose confidence with a final match against Hudds then you would see a potentially nervous set of players, It would come down to the usual who wants it more.

Huddersfield are not home and hosed just yet. They've their toughest fixtures to come.

Ever the eternal optimist I hope automatic qualification is still on. Leeds and Leigh are sorted but there are some awkward games for everybody. Our three easier games are all potential banana skins. Win all 3 well, control the controllables and see what happens. Trouble is that our attack has gone to pot. Put out our strongest side, those who gave such a creditable display in the main comp and pray !

Does anyone know what the possible permutations are, and what the chances are of a top 3 finish? We could have done with a narrow loss on Friday rather than a 2nd half thumping.

May be wrong, but I think if hudds lose to leigh, Leeds and beat kr we'll all be on 8 points (us, kr and hudds), so would come done to points difference. Assuming batley fev and London lose all remaining fixtures. Anything else would see us in mpg, and as we know we can't play at aj.
Need a big 3 wins whatever happens, hopefully then if we are in mpg at least we'll be high on confidence at hopefully whoever we play low. Hopefully.

CURRENT TABLE =============
1 Leeds Rhinos 8 2 Leigh Centurions 8 3 Huddersfield Giants 6 4 Hull K R 4 5 London Broncos 2 6 Salford Red Devils 2 7 Batley Bulldogs 2 8 Featherstone Rovers 0 Well there are loads, but let’s say Huddersfield were to lose all their remaining matches. Salford could meet them at home in the MPG:
Leeds v Batley Leigh v Huddersfield London v Hull KR Salford v Featherstone
Leigh v Batley Featherstone v Hull KR Huddersfield v Leeds Salford v London
Leeds v Leigh Batley v Salford London v Featherstone Hull KR v Huddersfield
1 Leeds Rhinos 14 2 Leigh Centurions 12 3 Hull KR 10 -------------------------- 4 Salford Red Devils 8 5 Huddersfield Giants 6 -------------------------- 6 London Broncos 4 7 Batley Bulldogs 2 8 Featherstone Rovers 0 If Huddersfield were to win the last match at Hull KR: Salford, Huddersfield and Hull KR could all finish on 8 points. The better points difference of the three would see them finish third. However, Salford are already 70 points off Hull KR and 114 points off Huddersfield. So Salford could do with winning margins of 40 per game.
Of course, there are unlikely perms that could see us a clear 3rd:
Leeds v Batley Leigh v Huddersfield London v Hull KR Salford v Featherstone
Leigh v Batley Featherstone v Hull KR Huddersfield v Leeds Salford v London
Leeds v Leigh Batley v Salford London v Featherstone Hull KR v Huddersfield
1 Leeds Rhinos 12 2 Leigh Centurions 12 3 Salford Red Devils 8 4 Huddersfield Giants 6 5 Hull KR 6 6 London Broncos 6 7 Batley Bulldogs 4 8 Featherstone Rovers 2

Thanks Chico my head was in bits trying to work this out. It looks like we're going to need some big wins in our next 3 games.

Personally, I think we'll be in the MPG with Huddersfield and Danny Brough will be the pantomime villain.

You could well be right but I'm not spending all match shouting "He's behind you!" everytime he goes as third man in the tackle to injure one of our players.
