I’m slightly obsessed about such things and asked the reasoning behind Sa’u being ‘non-fed’ and Nakubuwai being ‘overseas’. Former Salford employee Adam Whiteside kindly messaged me to tell me that Sa’u has a Samoan passport and Ben (despite his having two Fijian parents and playing for Fiji) travelled over on an Aussie passport.
If he ever needed to, I doubt it would be much bother for Ben to claim Fijian nationality and jump off the overseas quota.

Odd Situation with Toronto Wolfpack British players not counted as foreign They are registered with the RFL and in effect working here while living somewhere else (even though they all live in Manchester most of the time!).

And Catalan, Toulouse, ?? In the EU so different kettle of fish. Post Brexit is different but as above they will in effect be working in the UK so can’t see Brits being counted as overseas players.
