Gleeson doing a great job. He will be a real miss so I hope it is just rumours. Seems like an odd one not to be true though sadly

Can see it happening especially with Long off aswell, be very hard to replace because he has done an excellent job

Does seem a strange one But I'd suspect the lure of a team that isn't that far from his home in Wigan to Coventry also a Bigger monthly £s Will or has probably tipped the balance.

Maybe suggest a Player/Assistant Coach role for Rob Lui if this is true.

Think that could be a bigger loss than a lot of The players who are off. Gleeson has done a great job and the players speak highly of him. I’ve often wondered which out of him and Watto is really responsible those excellent shapes we have in attack. Need a really good replacement
At first I was thinking it would be a bit of demotion to go from overall assistant coach to assistant attack coach. But not only will he probably be on a lot more money he will get to experience a top professional set up with a number of specialists working together. Quick look on the website shows a back room staff of not far off 20 at Wasps
Hadn’t realised David Young is director of rugby there. Then they have a forwards coach, a back coach, a defence coach and presumable now an attack coach. Then a performance team of 9 or 10 then the medical and physio team. Plus a decent sized academy coaching team. Bit different from the 2 man band plus another half dozen at Salford
He will learn a lot in a set up like that. I was hoping he would take over when Watson eventually gets poached by a bigger spender. Hope Gleeson learns and then comes back to a job in league

Disappointing to see Gleeson go, but good luck to him. He has done a great job. I wonder if we could get Poching back?

Could Scott Naylor be his replacement? Leaving Oldham, used to play with Watto, experienced, has Salford at heart?

Could Scott Naylor be his replacement? Leaving Oldham, used to play with Watto, experienced, has Salford at heart? Spotted this earlier and thought the same. I'd take him as been a good coach for a number of years, I wondered if Littler might be an option but just extended with Swinton.

I thought the same when I saw he was leaving Oldham and I see it’s being mooted by love rugby league in one of their round ups. I know the club have commented in the past about how happy they’ve been with dual registration with Oldham as they have an approach that complements ours so hopefully he’ll fit in well if true. He never struck me as the most articulate of men when he was a player but he may have hidden depths and could well have developed that side of his character. I’d have no complaints if he came in. He was a great player for us so hopefully he can be a great coach too

A favourite of mine - was very good in his first stint. Obviously that doesn’t translate into guaranteed success as a coach (as RUTB said - he came across as a bit of a growler when they trained at the same gym as me) but he seems so have done a respectable job at Oldham. I’d be happy with this move.

Hopefully if he does come back to Salford He's probably matured since he left, With regard his hirsuteness he could try some Body waxing.

I’ve just realised my use of the term ‘growler’ could be interpreted many ways! What I meant is; he growled a lot and said very little.
