League express reporting Jake Bibby is a done deal and he has signed for them...also Griffin to Castleford. On top of reported Lui to Hull KR and Hastings obviously going to either Leeds/Wigan etc then it just leaves Evalds of the decent crew left..Can`t see him wanting to stay as the elite of the squad are off.
I appreciate players come and go, but surely this just kicks the fans in the nuts half way through the season.
Why cant the deals be done at the end of the playing season and not before.
Just makes it all a waste of time!

On the plus side we’ve got Joey signed up for next year and I’d argue he’s been in our top 3 players of the year alongside Jones and Niall.

This came up in the rumours/future thread a few days ago - believe Blease confirmed those two departures. Hastings is not a certainty to leave - as I understand it, it’s dependent on who we sign. Evalds is under contract. Lui is also not signed, sealed and delivered (but is probably fairly likely to leave).
Lets see what happens over the next couple of weeks. If (it’s a big ‘if’ I know) we manage to retain Hastings and make some other reasonable signings I’ll be happy. If we lose everyone and sign nobody we’ll worry about that when it happens - nowt we can do at the moment.

I know there is nothing that can be done but speculate and I think I am more annoyed, that everything is done mid season. Lets see if we can keep Jackson...get Sau and MCB from Wakey and see if Callum wants to come over the Pennines and Brierley from Leigh Keep Evalds/Joey and get another forward in. Keep Watson at the helm etc then I would be a little happier. (just cant see Jackson staying, he has fulfilled his obligations, however silverware and money will talk...as we have neither) |

As someone else said, It makes sense for us to keep quiet about signings so that we don’t get outbid. With Hastings- he likes it here and is living/working with his best mate so we have that going for us. You never know. It’s all speculation but - I think Sa’u is done with us (Pauli Pauli may stay here as a permanent swap but Sa’u hasn’t looked great for them so far), Brierley is too similar to Evalds for me and there is absolutely no chance with Watkins. |
