I think there was only one wasn’t there? When Josh Wood made no effort to roll away.

RFL pro active again then. The big wigs must have tuned into the Aussie rugby this week end to see how the game should be policed correctly.

And I think this is a disastrous response to the problem. There are already rules in place to deal with all of this - unsporting conduct, moving off the mark, not playing the ball
The changes incentivise players to stay in the way to slow play the ball down and with these changes receive a penalty for being in the way. I can’t believe there are getting a positive response from fans. It literally says that any pass hitting a defender near the ruck will be a pen to the defending team. I know what if he doing after a tackle if I was defending this weekend
Just wait til the Leeds game for the screams of outrage from our fans when they get a penalty by lying in the way behind the play the ball
This solves nothing. We need fans to accept that they aren’t necessarily the most impartial of judges and that there will always be decisions they don’t agree with. We need the media to stop highlighting every decision they don’t agree with. The level of ref bashing has reached nonsensical and hysterical levels
The Salford star photographer has shared a photo of Greenwood’s try claiming he loses it. The photo actually show he has fingers on the ball. But there are still loads of Salford fans claiming conspiracy and cheating refs, RFL, blah blah blah. You can see watching the highlights that it’s a try. It’s getting beyond a joke now
(None of this is aimed at you MR - just venting after I get more and more frustrated with fans whinging about and abusing officials)

We’ve had a fair few pens this season for it as well by the way. Josh Jones Is good at winning them. We also had a few last year for passing straight at a retreating defender - JJ again and Lussick got a couple. Phil Clarke was moaning about us getting pens in one of the televised games earlier this year. I think Clarke was wrong in that case and I also think sometimes they should be penalised if they’re in the way of the play the ball after a tackle then you should be penalised. If the guy playing the ball steps over the tackler or towards the tackler to make sure they are hit then fair enough it should be a pen the other way for moving off the mark or unsporting conduct or just play on.

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic Dixon but I think the RFL are being reactive to the noise over the weekend and haven’t thought through the changes fully

As Dixon says - follow the Aussies - first thing we need are TWO referees - problem is of course there are too few Officials available.

We have the touch judge's refing the ten metres in, while the referee refs the middle 40

Speaking of which in Monday 1 was reacting to abuse from the South stand, I know personal insults shouldn't be thrown about but I expect officials to be more professional than to be goaded like that.

Their should be no problem with the PTB they are looking right at it.

Dixon it's the law and it's use that's changed. All a ref can do is interpret and abide by it.
