12 games in and we have the 3rd best defence in the league. I can’t remember that ever being the case before. We have the 4th best points difference. Only 5 teams have positive points difference
I’m a big believer that a teams points against is a big indicator of where they will end up. In the past when we’ve had good starts but conceded a lot we’ve ended up towards the bottom. Teams with the best points conceded end up towards the top. It’s not often a team has a high for and against and ends up near the top
It shows we’ve been performing better than our league position suggests. But it’s tight. We’ve conceded 260, Wakey and Cas 262, Cats 263, Wigan 270.
Only saints miles ahead with 160. Wire on 231. Shows how close the league is this year. We need to start winning some of these close games. If we keep our defence tight we’ve a real chance of finishing top 5

I’ve calmed down a little now and I’m also feeling more positive but for a slightly different reason - I believe our issue is mental rather than anything physical, skill or talent. You don’t get the 2nd/3rd best away record in the league - including the incredible Cats and Wire performances - without having a quality squad. But at the same time you don’t get the worst home record - throwing away game after game - without having some sort of mental block.
However, mental issues can be overcome, especially as they seem to be specific to the AJ Bell. Watson is doing a grand job but it’s time for him to find a solution somehow. When he does, I have no doubt we’ll start picking up some home wins.

Its as if there's no pressure on us in the majority of away games where we're not expected to pick up anything, hence the freedom they played with at Wire and Catalans and bag some good scores.

I agree with all the above.
However, I think one of the main factors which will determine where we finish is our strength in depth, or lack of. We've not done too badly so far, but it'll be interesting to see how we get on later in the season when injuries/fatigue may set in. As it's been proven, our first team is good enough to beat anyone on their day, so I am generally pretty positive. I think we'll be too good to go down, and could have a reasonable stab at making the playoffs if we remain injury-free - and start cutting out the silly errors!

You could not say Evalds was an error if he catches the ball like he should have we win the game.We cannot keep harping on about errors when are we going to stop making them when this lot retire.Watson must feel like hitting is head on the dressing room wall.

There were a couple of positives above all others from yesterday.
Clearly there is no fall out between Lussick and Watson as I thought there was.
And how pissed was Hastings at the end, at times yesterday you could see him physically take the game on all by himself to raise the team, with better finances and a lack of interest from the NRL we'd have a Salford legend to rival any other.

Yeah agree with everything more or less on the positive side above. The team fought back and went ahead two good ponts from the game. Although as I said somewhere else I worry all then time, I haven't felt this positive since I can't remember when. I also think having a positive once in a while would do us all the world of good!
Reasons to be cheerful part 1.
