Sensational win today. We absolutely bossed it from the first minute to the last. I can’t remember the last time I saw Warrington dominated in the middle that much or seen a team go through them like that on their line. That’s because we competed for every scrap, we drove the extra metre every run, we challenged for every kick, we hit them hard and early in every tackle. They couldn’t handle it. They panicked into bad passes into touch because the Salford players forced them to rush their plays. This wasn’t as pretty or as thrilling as the Catalans win but it was a more complete performance against a team that’s been deservedly in the top 2 all season. We had 5 or so minutes looking nerves when Jacko kicked out on the full, they scored and nearly got another one and Welham was sin binned but they stuck it out and got back on top
Hard to pick out individuals but I’m going to anyway! The whole pack was fantastic. Dudson has been incredible and never more than today. Lussick did another massive shift. Jones is a machine this year. Never stops. Walker has his best game so far. But the key man in the pack for me was Burke. His last passing and link up in the middle was sublime. His step to create the space for Lussick’s try was fab and there was a crunching tackle when warrington were trying to get away from their line that finished off their hope of fightin back
The backs didn’t have as much fun as in Perpignan but were still excellent. Lui has his best game of the season. Bibby and Olpherts were both excellent. Welham proved the doubters wrong. Jacko controlled everything. But my mom was Inu. His goal kicking was essential. But he was solid under the high ball and in defence. His catch and offload to Murray was sublime and he was dangerous going forward all the time.
Fabulous team performance

Think that's something we've missed more often than not the last couple of seasons, we seem to let other teams get a head start.
I know I've said this before but we are way to predictable, long right (makes a change from long left as was the case for years) from the KO, surely if say Monday we won the toss and elected to kick off and then went short we'd catch Wigan of guard and for the rest of the game put a doubt in their minds.
Seems like we hit our straps today just as Warrington had a case of the dropsies.
Maybe this is the start of the time of the smaller pack (can't imagine the big Wakefield bruisers PP & Fafita being anything like as effective in hot weather) someone like Murray or Burke might just really come into their own now there has been a reduction in interchanges.
Seems like in Inu we've got a hell of a kicker, can't wait for him to get fully match fit as think he'll get a hat full of tries.

Re size and mobility in the pack. I remember talking and listening to Sheens, who is a bit me me but has fantastic knowledge of RL.
He said the ideal size and type of forward for summer rugby and less interchanges was....Griffin.

Has anyone seen / found highlights for yesterday’s game yet? The club social media team said they’d be on the site today. The tries were shown after the Wigan-saints game on sky if you recorded that?

Lui and Inu in the team of the weekend Well deserved. Im surprised none of the forwards got in - any of Dudson, Burke, Murray or Jones could have done I think

A couple of things to watch out for on the tries. It was hard to see from the away end, it looked like Burke’s step and offload set up lussicks try but joey still had plenty to do. His acceleration was impressive but running into the post pad not so much 😂
Inu flattens Griffin catching Hastings kick before setting up Murray. Unselfish play by Inu as I reckon he could have scored himself

Has anyone seen / found highlights for yesterday’s game yet? No but Sky have highlights of Marwan vs that green thing up - got their priorities right obviously.

The kick every time by Warrington yesterday was long and straight to Niall every time. No change all the way through the game. Very strange and totally pointless

They were great kick offs though. I’m the air s long time meaning they were making the first tackle on our 10m line. Every one was on the try line or near the corner flag forcing Evalds to make a decision about whether to catch or let it go. I don’t get the criticism of kicking long. When you’ve just conceded you may well have just done a full 6 tackles or more. You’re going to be more fatigued than the receiving team. Better to try and defend 80 or 90 metres than 50. Means they should be kicking long rather an stacking kick at the end of the set. Also if you can force an error you’re in a good position from the scrum. Short kick offs are a gamble when you’re chasing the game I did think yesterday they might have gone short a bit sooner though. They did try one which we won

They did try one which we won I'm not saying going long is wrong I'm saying some variety would help, it is no good when the opposition can set there best forward and catcher ready each time, go the other side, try one into the large area midfield where there is no player, punt one end over end along the ground making it very difficult to stop and pick up.

I know what you mean MR. I do think long kicks are the best % play which in close games is important. I agree there can be no harm in mixing things up sometimes but I think the reality is that there are few options that don’t just give the opposition a significant chance of getting the ball further up the pitch. The receiving team Is positioned to be able to gather most kicks
2 that I have wondered aren’t tried more are drilling it low so it has a chance of hitting the point and bouncing over players into touch. And, as you say landing it in the gap in the middle with back spin
But I can’t believe coaches and players haven’t thought of them and tried them and so they mustn’t work as well
