The RFL do the right thing
"He’s the voice of Rugby League, and tomorrow Eddie Hemmings will be commentating on his last ever game, live on Sky Sports, when Wigan Warriors host St Helens.
Hemmings throughout his time with Sky Sports has been a part of some of the most iconic moments in Super League’s history, and ‘Wide to West’ is the most famous and memorable moments. "
"Thank you Eddie Hemmings"

Had the pleasure of meeting Eddie a couple of years ago at a charity Golf day. Really nice fella and good sense of humour. Wish him a happy retirement.

Won't miss him, where as he might be a nice guy he is a terrible commentator (but then in the UK as on the pitch we are just 2nd best) with an annoying habit of dwelling on what has just happened rather than what is going on right now.
But then I've just turned on the Hull derby (after watching just about the best game I've ever seen (Mel V Syd) and have had the misfortune of hearing the female commentator.

I'm watching and listening as well and I think she's made some good points certainly no worse that some of her male counterparts, a refreshing change in my opinion.

Eddie Hemings drove me mad at times but I will miss him. He’s done way more good than harm. He’s a good commentator and he’ll be hard to replace Enjoy your retirement Eddie

I think Jodie Cunningham is a really good summariser. She’s positive, articulate, describes what is happening and explains bits about why it’s happened. Considering she is still quite new I think she’ll go on to be a high quality addition
