Sam Kasiano signs for the Dragons and will make his debut soon ........!!!
Catalan look like they could become a real force in SL.
TWP look like they would be too.
I think our inability to compete economically may simply become more obvious and more telling.

I think next year will be the hardest with potentially Lui and Hastings leaving - we will find it difficult to recruit two decent halves on our budget. Youth might be our best bet but it’s a massive risk and the only decent prospects I’ve seen are tied up elsewhere.

I’ve thought for some while that we are punching above our weight. I broadly support expansion, taking the view that the stronger the game is, the better we all are. Eventually though there is a very real chance of a drop to the championship, and I hope that management has been watching what happened to Bradford, Leigh, and Widnes, and doesn’t gamble the club on an immediate return to SL. After the crisis 6 years ago, I’ve come to realise that having the club there to support is infinitely more important than each week’s results. Long term survival in SL depends simply on either growing the fan base significantly or finding another rich benefactor.

I think London are easing most relegation fears this season (although they've not done too bad so far). But if Toronto are promoted, I'd expect them to continue to invest heavily and put together a decent team. That could leave us in a potentially precarious position, especially if some of our better players leave and not adequately replaced.

If, as is very possible, Lui and Hastings depart then who could we, in reality, bring in to replace them. Brierley would seem likely for me to replace Lui as he has a very good support and running game. Not one to marshall a team around the pitch though. For 7 it would be between Sammut or Sandow as both are 7's in the Dobson mould, and our season with Littlejohn/Shorrocks in there show how much an organiser is required.

And as if by magic this about Sandow emerges.

For scrum halves: I liked the look of Holmes at Featherstone last year but he went to the Giants (back on loan at Featherstone now). I watched Leigh a week or so ago and Woods looked very good - I doubt Wigan will let him go though. Patton at Wire might be an option if he doesn’t want to play second fiddle but again can’t see him leaving just yet. I’m sure there are others around.

Richardson if Fages and Lomax keep him out of team.

People seem to have forgotten about Wood, I reckon ultimately he'll mature into an excellent organising halve.

Time for the fans whip round and buying more lottery tickets; a wing and a prayer.

Wing and a prayer: more likely a half back and a forward

Wing and a prayer: more likely a half back and a forward If that were the only problem! From your keyboard to God's laptop, as the saying goes.

Let this season finish before getting worried about next. The club are getting sponsors on board and other revenue streams. Sio came this year as well as JH stayed so the money is there for players but we can’t splash the cash like other clubs. I would think the club have their eye on players now. It’s natural progression that players leave and they do get replaced. Enjoy the season and don’t be doom merchants before it’s only just even started.

And if Leeds or Wigan get relegated, there is still London and Huddersfield for us to be ahead of.
