"Warrington Wolves have been linked with an audacious move for former England rugby union international centre Luther Burrell .."
And TWP after SBW....
Yawn replacing NRL as geriatric intake?
Though it has to be said that both these will make for good media coverage which RL is mostly deprived of for no good reason.
Ill wind and all that, bright side etc and I hope it all works out despite my misgivings.

Reckon Warrington might get a hell of a lot of good publicity out of this, reversing the trend sort of thing.
He certainly has the size to make an impact.

If you were going to be interested in a Move to Toronto Wolfpack And you're a Aussie/ NZ player who's never been to the UK All they see is the £s ad $s offered they probably Don't Understand that there first 6-7 months will be spent in the North west England and the winter. Training by Platt fields, Fallowfield Or they must pay them **** loads of Money so there not that Bothered. Has Signed for the Wolves. Will join up with them in September.

Publicity for our game is huge and the more TWP can attract it the more they'll be ripe for SL !

In terms of SL and media coverage SBW is the cake and the other guy the icing.
I still think about that Welsh guy who came that bit too late and in my book wasted years of talent.
No doubt there'll still be people moaning about TWP
It also fits in with Nobby's claasic idea that we could compete with the 'Roos when we had union talent. I think he must have bunked off school every time it was History!

Do you mean Gareth Thomas? Too late for what? I should imagine he means too late in his career...

Do you mean Gareth Thomas? Too late for what? I should imagine he means too late in his career... The thread is about Yawn converts and the clues in the title.
Yes of course I meant Gareth Thomas, could've been a great instead of just a shadow.
The two under discussion in this thread though at least have RL experience.
Because RL is a simple game idiots often confuse it with simplistic and easy to play, like a lot of yawn pundits.
It's a bit like me saying being an astronaut is a piece of cake! Never having actually done it but being entitled to an opinion.

Just read a report online that states that Toronto have offered a deal worth (I'd sit down) $5,000,000 which in itself is eye watering, but the bit that got me is that they say most of it would be exempt from the salary cap.
This is either a brilliant bit of business and will bring in extra bums on seats across the board set a dangerous precedence and set up a spiralling increase in player values and wages.

Doesn't surprise me. If RL did fully take off in the States or Canada they'd have that much cash they'd take all our and the NRL players and sink us both. Sport is run as big business there.

The questions it has raised have all been about RL being swept away. But having TWP in SL means the opportunities for being part of it rather than being left for dead are just as possible.

They prefer homegrown players over there though - look at the MLS which is mostly American players and a sprinkling of big names. They also have a massive pool of unemployed athletes who don’t make it to or in the NFL - that would be the prime place to look for new talent.
