I know we're not allowed to slate the refs these days, but an offside penalty on Leeds first set of six set the tone. He was also desperate not to give our first try until advised otherwise by the in goal touch judge.
Easy to say with hindsight but kicking for 2 points at 12-20 was a bad call. I know we had 12 men at the time (another baffler from child) but after that Leeds pulled away with it.
Parcell was the difference though. Great play from dummy half and we had no answer.
We had our chances but Leeds took advantage when they were on top and we didn't.
Onto the next one.

Too many basic errors cost us and Leeds took advantage of that.
I thought we still had a chance going in to the second half but we totally capitulated and started missing tackles.
Leeds PTB and ruck speed was much better than ours.
Childs made some dodgy calls but I think we'd have lost convincingly anyway.
Some of our fans need to stay away from social media after a big defeat. Some of the posts on Twitter last night were ridiculous.
Onwards and upwards.

James Child should have his best game in years yesterday and he didn't. He was demoted to championship games for a few weeks after the controversy at Headingly last year and Myler playing him for that last minute penalty so he had a chance to redeem himself and he didn't. As soon as he gave Leeds a penalty during our first set I think we all knew what sort of afternoon it was going to be. Forward passes galore and Myler again milking the penalty which led to the handbags and Jensen having 10. I'll be interested to see which game Child gets this weekend.
It's easy to say forget about it and we go again next week but these things grate on year after year, season after season.

But I can read ANC and I agree, knee jerk I'd say.

I couldn't agree more about a good proportion of our support. They are the the most bipolar group of ranting weirdos I have ever come across. They swing from the highest heights of wild optimism, making tongue in cheek comments about Grand finals to the lowest lows of making personal attacks on players, questioning everyone's ability from the coach to Doctor Devil, all in the space of an afternoon. I cant believe how many times I have seen the word "disgrace" used so inappropriately, after what was an admittedly bad afternoon at the office. Were all a bit disappointed but come on. I know we haven't got that many to spare, but I sometimes think we as a club would be better off without a good chunk of our so called "fans".

They're just sad people seeking attention.
So don't give it them

A disgrace no. A very disappointing performance very much so. It was worrying to see such capitulation, that said there were still positives that for me out weighed the negatives. One thing that's been ignored though is that we did the usual Salford trick, we managed to ride rough shod all over the confidence 2 good wins will have brought by being decidedly average.
And I must add given the hovering fans another why the hell should I bother moment when that i what we get. We seems hell bent on a few good performances that get people interested in only to then blow in front of a few returners.

Very disappointing result. Leeds finally clicked into gear and played some decent rugby I thought; unfortunately we were on the receiving end, and that coupled with some bad mistakes and penalties is why we were comfortably beaten in the end. Hopefully it's a wake-up call and we can improve at Hull KR next week. I thought we were still in it at half-time and could've got back in the game, especially when Jones scored just after half time. Going for the 2 was a strange decision I thought when we were 8 points down, I would've kept the pressure on and gone for a try or repeat set. It must've been some sort of tactical decision with us being down to 12 men. Then it all went pear-shaped for the last 20 minutes or so. And I must add given the hovering fans another why the hell should I bother moment when that i what we get. We seems hell bent on a few good performances that get people interested in only to then blow in front of a few returners.
There's been a few newbies stood near me us the past couple of weeks, will be interesting to see how many of them turn up for the next home game against Saints.

Just read a piece where Ian Watson mentions not controlling the pace of the game and he has hit the nail on the head, yesterday showed that down the middle we seem to be pedestrian if we are not on the front foot.
Also comes back to me that our left edge yesterday seemed to be a man light on every attack, Leeds always seemed to have the overlap and I really don't know how they didn't score more down that channel.

I normally stand in South Stand with the numpties but yesterday sat with a mate in West Stand. Some pillock started ranting at the team calling them a "disgrace" etc and he carried on. After about the 3 or 4th time some fella stood up and laid into him (verbally) and quite rightly so. I'd have told the guy myself if I could see where he was sat. Don't need idiots like that "supporting" the club. If we're having a shocker, like yesterday, try supporting the team instead of getting on their case. The last thing we need is a repeat of the Huddersfield Away incident a few seasons back. Unfortunately I reckon we have a higher proportion of idiot fans than most.

I have long said if you are p!ssed off with the team then stoney silence makes a much louder noise to the players than barracking them.

Oh and as for the game.
Woeful tackling and consistently allowed Leeds easy yards through basic missed 1:1 tackling.
Didn't slow Leeds down at the PTB allowing Parcell to run ok from DH.
Defensive line speed way too slow allowing Leeds to be dominant in collision.
Penalties straight from kick off - unacceptable.
Leeds offside at every PTB (and Dwyer always right in front of Child being the worst culprit).
Plenty more negatives but we just have to right it off. Makes it even more galling because it's Leeds and I can't stand the tw@ts!😩
Still fancy us to go to HKR and get something next week though. We're better than we showed yesterday and hopefully Watto gives them the rocket and we see a response.

I don't know what's wrong with everyone It's just like the old days. And where would we be with a consistent team that won matches and trophies? We'd have to get used to permanent grins and optimistic outlooks. All a bit like wearing a John Collier badly fitting suit to a wedding.

We have won two out of three. I would have settled for that before the season started. Now we have to back it up with 4 very difficult fixtures coming up. Two wins from those and we can all start to relax a bit.
