I was surprised to see how highly regarded Andy Gregory still is. He had the makings of a good un and masterminded the best win of my lifetime - shame the booze got the better of him.

Yep It's a shame for Gregory as he would have made a Good coach if he would have got him self off the Booze, I can remember a Couple of incidents Back in 1997 when Salford played Paris RL Away
I was on the same BA Flight there and back As the team Greg's was Half cut when he Got on the Flight from Manchester at Around 7-8 am He had to be sat at the back near the Toilet so he didn't have any Unfortunate accidents!!
The return flight at Charles de Gaulle was memorable As He was spotted by a mate of his Ian Rush, After a hour at the bar Rushy asked Paul forber and Cliff Eccles to " Assist him" to The Bus taking us to the plane He needed all the help he could get walking up the aircraft steps !!

Slightly On & Off Topics. RE Fairly bad Coaching. I see Are Co-tenants of the Kick & Clap Rugby Got a Stuffing at Northampton (Glorified Motorway service station) 67-17. Denny Solomona had yet another off day And Chris Ashton stayed at home.
According to a RU Supporting Work Colleague Ashton may be interested in coming back to RL After the RU World cup. So that's odds on for him to go to Toronto.

I do think people were voting for the idea of Lance Todd.
When it was players Risman ended up sub, so although I like the legacy/concept/ memories it is always flawed to try and decide about best players.

I think Big Kev T might have matched if not overtaken McCrae if that's the criteria.
We have suffered from too many coaches who were biding their time, on the look out for somewhere better, cba generally or thought they were too good for the place.
I still remember "He isn't a playmaker and I haven't got time to make him into one!"
Er, I think that's called coaching.
