Just read that there is now a panel of 21 ex players making up the judging panel, not entirely sure how this can work, surely all 21 of them can't watch all 80 minutes of each game?
Can't see anything but the coaches of the teams are the ones who pick based on the game each weekend, Danny Ward could have picked the 1, 2, 3 for Salford and Watson did the same for the London players.
Would surely be the best way to decide such a prestigious award.

As far as I know, each one gets assigned a match every week. Assume there are 21 so that they can have weeks off etc. I’d prefer two attending every game - that way it’s not just one person’s opinion which can be easily influenced or biased.
It’s better than it was anyway.
