I thought it was £26.00 if tickets were pre-purchased? I seem to remember a moan (Sorry "thread") about this previously?😂 Yes sorry £26, still over priced though if you ask me.

Yeah its not cheap i agree with that mate. Only a quid more than last season though i suppose, hope there arent too many put off by the cost and we get a decent crowd in. I agree with the south stand thing though, without knowing the logistics of doing it seems like a no brainer to me.

There are enough big business interests right on the stadiums doorstep to ask them to get involved, the Macro school zone something along those lines.
Send 2 or 3 players to schools a couple of weeks prior to the game handing out free tickets and generally interacting with the kids, I know we do this at local junior clubs but let's be honest that is an audience that is already interested so not likely to bring in many new faces.
I know it's a different scenario but what Warrington did last week by having Clint Boon doing a DJ set before the game was a brilliant idea, big local radio personality who I'm sure would have given it loads of free plugs and a better match day experience.

I do agree that it is too pricey in the west stand, however the problems the club seem to face when they do cheap ticket offers are:
The season ticket holders start kicking off about the club trying to entice new fans?!?
People use them who were attending the game anyway at full price so the club end up losing out.
I would love us to reclaim the east stand as a home area over the course of the season. But 3k at £25 would bring in more than 6k at £10.
I think any cheap tickets need to be aimed at potential new supporters. Apparently Salford uni students can get £5 entry for the St Helens game. Let's hope for a good turnout.

I'm lucky... single guy with no kids... so I've disposable income. Got a season ticket for Salford Rugby and Salford Football at a combined £360 or so quid. I know we've done this to death and the club have tried numerous deals/offers but success is the only answer to increasing crowds (with reasonable prices helping). If it's correct and we took 1500 to Hudds on a Friday night (which seemed plausible how busy it was) surely we can treble that at home on a Sunday?

price of tickets for west stand. i know not cheap.
But if you buy a ticket for the south stand early enough at the cheapest rate, Get the kids a season ticket free i believe???
Then at kick off go and sit in some empty seats in the west stand, i dont think you will get kicked out, as i have never seen anyone checking tickets to be honest. . Not quite honest but if you want to sit down try it.
2 seasons ago they did a deal where it was cheaper to get a season ticket for the west stand than it was for the south, so i bought for west , and went in south.

Emphasis on Primary rather than secondary schools would be a start.
A really good point, secondary school kids are already wooed by soccer.... rugby league needs to become more "glamourous" and appealing to young kids, just like soccer, I think Junior referred to this in a recent anti-social media post …. god knows how we do it though... aren't the Supporter's Trust relaunching the Junior Red Devils...? Yup the ST have relaunched the Junior Devils and have done a great job so far. Junior and Dr Devil are the dream team when it comes to marketing the club to kids. I know a lot scoffed when Marwan brought DD in as a narcissistic move but let's be honest he's the best mascot in SL! (if you disagree I'll beat your ass!😉) PS. Sorry if Daredevil Duck and the camp Power Ranger are reading the forum but you guys were lame!😂

RE junior tickets:
All under 11 season tickets are free.
The family season ticket offers 2 adults and 2 kids (under 16) for the price of just the 2 adult tickets. This also applies to the individual game by game match tickets.

Players and Foundation staff were out at local amateur clubs last night giving out forms that can get every player under 16 at any community club a free season ticket. They brought it in part way through last year and I don’t think many were taken up. The foundation regularly do sessions at primary and secondary schools including free ticket offers. They have offered every amateur club, school, voluntary organisation, public bodies ‘take over days’, Salford uni is the first to take it up
They already do pretty much everything suggested above. They have very few staff to deliver all this. Some of it could be done better but to make any real improvement they either need an injection of resources to get to Wigan/Warrington levels or a lot more people taking up the requests for volunteers

Paul McNally with some interesting reflections on his time working in super league marketing medium.com/@iampaulmcnally/the-state-of-it-c39618d801f?_referrer=twitterI think he makes some very valid points about the impact of getting out to schools etc. Still think we should do it but we have to be realistic about how long it will take to see any real results And the point about the away tickets is a good one. Wigan and Leeds must make a fortune from all the tickets they sell to away games.

Bugger me that's one hell of a good read a bit of an eye opener and for me a few I told you so moments.
Stark, quite stark.

"Too expensive for fans you're trying to convert in a winning mad area." I changed this for accuracy.
I thought the Paul McNally article was a good read, very interesting but he sounded like too much of a fan and far too negative about what can be done to really achieve anything.
