What did everyone make of their debuts yesterday? Personally I thought that they both had solid games. Burgess was very strong in the tackle. The hit he made on Crabtree was pretty awesome Mateo looks like he's got a good off-load on him and that pass to Caton-Brown for his hat-trick try was brilliant. Given that he was only been in the country for a few days prior to the match, I thought he handled it very well. Lets hope they can continue their good starts next week at Leigh!

I think Mateo looks like a game breaking #13, though he does seem to be in the Junior Langi department for his shorts size. Not sure if it was a consequence of his arrival but BMM had his best game for some months, maybe a bit of competition was needed to gee him up.
Thought Burgess was immense, tackled everything and hit the ball up with gusto, if he does back to the NRL (though not entirely sure him playing well for us will get him on the radar of any NRL teams) it proves that we need one if not two props of his size, so many times Crabtree has steamrollered us but yesterday Burgess/Kopczak smashed him and made him ineffectual.

Both had good solid games , which considering the short time they have been in the country bodes well for the rest of the 8s . Mateo looks like a great ball handling back row player ; when he gels more with the rest of the squad I expect a few more effective offloads- he was looking to do so at several tackles yesterday but had no one to back him up - that should improve with time . He's got a pass that most half - backs would be proud of - did I hear someone say he's played at stand - off ? He was huffing and puffing at the first interchange, but I'm sure that will improve . Burgess - solid taking the ball up and solid hits in defence . First time in many years I felt the interchanges did not weaken the 13 on the park at any time ! Enjoyable game - roll on Saturday ....
