He's signed with The Supreme champions of Under achievment Warrington from 2020 on a three year deal. He's going to be there Marquee player. Not a bad deal for someone who'll be 31 at the start of 2020 season. It'll be a Pension booster.

As a St George fan I'm a little bit disappointed because on his day he is world class. However, he is starting to get a bit injury prone, having missed big chunks of the last two seasons with his dodgy shoulder. Its an interesting gamble for Warrington and hopefully St George can get a full season out of him this year and win a premiership, because he probably won't win anything with Wire lol

I personally think this might turn out to be more about the hypw than actual on field gains. As an aside how can Warrington Austin and Widdop as Marquee signings for next season?

Didn’t they extend it to two marquee players last year?

Also Steve Rapira. Yet Another One of the Not as good as his Better known Brother that we've signed over the years.

It's ironic that the Doc was the champion of the Marquee signing rule and all and sundry within the game fought him every step of the way to stop it, yet now he has cut ties with the club the rule is embraced and now is being expanded to allow 3 players.
1 should be the limit as basically all this is going to do is widen the gap of the few teams who can afford 3 players and those who can't.

Big names put bums on seats - if you can afford it then fair enough. The game needs as much publicity as it can get. Congratulations to them, think he’ll be a cracking signing.

Oh I agree, but it will create more of a gap between the 4/5 elite teams and the rest, if Toronto get promoted this season they will bring in some bumper players and join that list.

It's the end of the salary cap via the back door. The rich and powerful must prevail. If the doc had taken us over now we'd be in the top 4 this year. With it an increase in interest and crowds. The place would be buzzing. Ah well. Bollocks.
